Nostalgia

Apollo 11 lifted off on July 16, 1969, to begin its history-making journey.
Hundreds of millions of people around the world watched over the next days as Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin, and Michael Collins accomplished the goal of landing a man on the Moon by the end of the decade.

And just because the Wallabies are playing against the British and Irish Lions this weekend, here's a pic from 1950 when again the Wallabies were playing the Lions - featuring Rex "Moose" Mossop taking the ball in a lineout (Rex later to crossover to league and later still to commentary)

Long before legends like Sachin Tendulkar or Sir Don Bradman graced the game, there was one man who laid the foundation for greatness in cricket WG Grace.
He was a pioneer in every sense, achieving numerous firsts in the sport:

* The first player to score two triple centuries in first-class cricket
* The first to accumulate 2,000 first-class runs in a single season
* The first to notch up 1,000 runs in the month of May alone
* The first cricketer to reach 50,000 runs in first-class cricket
* The first to register 100 centuries
* The first player to score a Test century on English soil

His career was nothing short of extraordinary it spanned 44 years.
Over that time, he amassed a staggering 54,000 runs, claimed 2,809 wickets, and took 876 catches.
He played professional cricket until the age of 61 and passed away in 1915.
