On 11 February, 1936, Australia made their Winter Olympic debut when Ken Kennedy competed in the Men’s 500m Speed Skating event at the 1936 Garmisch-Partenkirchen Olympic Winter Games

Channel 7 was the broadcasters of the rugby league, with the great man Rex Mossop as the caller, the telecast began at 6:30pm went for an hour.​

When you added in the commercials, we saw about 42 minutes of actual footage.

You’d go from the 11th to the 18th minute in the blink of an eye.

That's how it was back then. When we got to the finals, it was an hour and a half.
