NOW WHERES THE FORWARD SIGNINGS?

Yeah, I hate those lazy middle players that harass the kickers, follow the ball across in cover and get back quickly after a break or dive on loose balls etc.
 
Now lets try and sign Adam Docker so we have a few hard men in our team which we lack.

We need opposition teams fearing our pack week in week out.

How far is Dallas Graham for NRL standard?

Blair is a first class grub IMO. How he can try so hard for the Broncos while being paid by us, yet put half the effort in when he was actually with us is shameful.

Blair is a lazy player. Will not put in unless he has too. With us he knew he wouldn't get dropped, so he bludged most of the time. He only put the effort in when it suited him, started playing a bit better, after years of bad press about his performances with us and of course when the NZ selections were coming round.
He plays his best game at the Broncos, because he knows Bennett wouldn't hesitate to drop him.

He was dragged in to the board to explain why he wasn't putting in early in the season things changed..this is the difference between them and our club they do not tolerate mediocrity.

We all know that's what he does best… When he chooses too. It was Blair's inconsistency and going missing in games ( laziness) while playing for us i didn't like FG.
 
People forget it is a team game and most of the time your only as good as the people around you. Its very hard to star in a team that is not functioning very well or is made up of a lot of plodders. Okay their are exceptions like Teddy, but most good players play in good teams

THE Panthers have announced that four of their 2015 squad players will be departing the club to pursue new opportunities.

Adam Docker, Isaac John, Ben Murdoch-Masila and Sam Anderson have not been offered a new deal.

Docker, who joined the Panthers in 2012, has been plagued by injury over the past 18 months and reports suggest he may link with the Dragons on a one-year deal.

John is rumoured to be following former Panthers assistant coach Trent Barrett to Manly in 2016.

Prop forwards Murdoch-Masila and Anderson both played a prominent part in the Panthers NSW Cup campaign which earned them a premiership in 2014.

I'd still love to add Docker to our pack. None of our signings have broken the bank so hopefully there's enough there to sneak him in.

I heard Docker is off to Manly.
Retirement a possibility too??

Sam Anderson could be headed here though….

It wasn't solely directed at your comment Mama, but certainly the word "lazy" was taken from your post.

We all see a game a little differently (some don't pay any attention when we don't have the ball) and his first season and a half deserved critism which is fair enough, even though IMO he was not to blame. Once Potter moved him back to the middle he went well for us and from then on the attacks were a hangover from his early time with us and could only be justified if aimed toward his salary, if at all.
 
You can and I did critcise Adam Blair for a lot of things while at the Tigers but 1 you can't firly accuse him of is being lazy. He did every match all that stuff that is the opposite of lazy. Now our structure didn't work for him until he was back in the middle and his defense quality was poor at times but he was never lazy. He was one of the best trainers and hardest workers on the field we had but he just struggled in our approach until move back to the middle

He didn't exert himself. He cruised most of his time while playing for us, i agree.
 
Blair always had ability but never gave us any real value for the mountain of cash we were paying him. He got away with it because he knew he wouldn't be dropped no matter how he performed. Difference with the Broncos is he knows he'll be shaking hands with their reggies coach unless he performs!

Pretty sure Blair played every game last year and with a team riddled with injury and no other players to replace him with - there was no way he was going to get dropped. Quite frankly imo - last year he didnt deserve to be dropped anyway. One thing Brisbane seems to never have to worry about is depth - they seem to have an endless supply of talent.
 
Anyone else find it funny that in the two teams that have an emphasis on structure & discipline, Blair plays well (Brisbane, Melbourne), but in the ad-lib, fling the ball about club Wests Tigers, he gets lost?

I'd say, on evidence, it's the way these teams play that dictates his effectiveness.
 
Any one know if Willy Mason got a start for 2016 was talk he was going over to play in England , would be a cheap 1 year deal for back up
 
I reckon Willie would be great for a year. Very experienced, puts in every game and way past his wilder younger days. Our young blokes could learn a lot from him-hopefully all good! Cheap too I should think.
 
We need young legs with big engines in 2016 with the reduced interchange, big Willie is not what we want. The way I see it we need a emerging front rower and maybe another depth back rower and we should be done for 2016
