NRL calls on fans to voice their opinion

The questions on the survey is one problem with the NRL, they don't really know how to do things completely or properly.

They're kind of loaded questions, where they're forcing you to give an answer you don't really agree with but have to choose one anyway.

There's many things that survey didn't cover.

Just did it , wanted two coaches challenges which can be used at any stage during a game

I said the same when I completed it too!

For tries only?

I made sure to mention for try scoring opportunities only! lol

Would you still have the video ref available to the refs outside iff the challenges? Still 2 refs?

No and No

I wonder what the most knowledgeable and highest authority in the game(Greenbergs daughter and her touch footie team said). That would be a good guide to the NRLs future direction

A lot of cynics in here.

If the NRL was legitimate about listening to fans input, they'd still lose out, because half the folks wouldn't believe them anyway.

Legitimate... Lol.

Everyone's called for 2 ref's to be scrapped for years.... Listening?

Everyone hey?

Slagging off the NRL has become the new cliche past-time after slagging off pollies, as if 99% of folks on here had any idea what it takes to run the world's top rugby league competition.

Entirely intentional. They gave you one free text box - go for your life.

99 per cent would have a reasonable idea that common sense and fairness is a good start.

No for anything that the coach wants to question

Trouble is that after 2 challenges there could be more errors from refs. Look at Stokes being plumb in front in the last over if the 4th test.

Yeah but that was Paine's stupidity in looking at decision in desperation that was so far from being out it wasn't funny

Your also talking about centimetres with a cricket ball moving at 140-150kmh at times

Honestly how many games have you watched where a game turns about face on a single call , where a ref may have been unsighted or was watching for something else

Its a real no brainer and would give the game and the individuals in games more control over results

No doubt Paine stuffed up but not as much as the umpire. Plumb as.. the speed of the ball is irrelevant in getting lbws correct.
The idea of the video is to get decisions right.

@jirskyr : oooh...someone wasn't in a good mood when this was written..."Slagging off the NRL has become the new cliche past-time AFTER SLAGGING OFF POLLIES".

99% of people on here know full well that 99% of pollies are not doing the job we entrust them to do for US.

And "FOLKS" is probably a term of endearment better left in the good ole USA.

You get two chances ...more if you get them right in cricket .....it is as much as the Captain's fault as it the umpires fault for challenging bad calls

I'm betting that umpire won't be rated in the two top umpires after those Tests ..his name escapes me at the moment

We will never get perfection , but we need ( as a sport ) to get far closer to it than we currently are

Pfffft..how about no chances..

Move on from a bad call..suck it up and get on with it...

Simple..

Is anyone really surprised at the survey? They'd have done the check box thing for two obvious reasons:

1. They'd probably get hammered with a fair bit of criticism with written answers, particularly with the finish to the year and the grand final result;
2. It is probably much easier to collate and check box results (e.g. x% agree with this statement, y% disagree,) which requires less analysis and is probably achieved through an auto-total function. I would hazard a guess the rule change suggestion box does not even get reviewed and is just there to give fans the illusion that they are "having their say."

Also wanted to add @gallagher that nothing moves at 140-150 kmh in NRL which will help with judgement

Usually when a blunder is made 80% of fans / commentators etc see it

I suppose that works when you support the Roosters , Storm etc that cope with adversity well

As we are WT's supporters ( well I am , I question your motives /team regularly ) we don't cope well with adversity and usually come crashing down in a great heap and get lapped

In other words we don't defend our brain farts well

Then don't waste them on decisions the ref has correct!
