NRL finals footy discussion 2026

Whats the point of having one rule all year for disruptors, to can it in finals? Are they going to bring it back next year until the finals again. What about 6 agains and high tackles? I dont care the rule, but dont change it. It shits me. NBA has consistent rules all year. NRL it depends on the game.

Great game but as usual the refs decided who wins, blatant penalty to the Wahs not given in the last minute.Should be extra time after the kick for goal.
Dodgy as you could get

Is it actually a disruptor? He was within a metre from the ball and had his hands in the air

I wanted knights to win and have a soft spot for friz considering hes coming here, so I have a bit of bias

It was fine. Only people whinging are Wests Tigers fans…colour me surprised.

He was not seriously contesting the ball. Moves sideways to create a block. Clear penalty for me. If that was a GF it’d be talked about for years.
What BS 🤣🤣🤣 old mate tried to milk it and lost. Maybe he should have tried harder to catch it rather than play for the penalty.

I’m glad the Knights won in the end but the contest was absolutely ruined by the most inept officiating I’ve ever seen. The 2 challenges by Ponga were both wrong decisions and that escort by Frizell!..how is that not called back and a penalty given? It happens in every other instance I’ve seen, the opposing doesn’t have to challenge it, the video ref just usually calls it, same way they do with tries. I’m completely gobsmacked by those decisions, the Warriors were robbed no question.

Its different to how they ruled not long ago. They would have said, he didnt jump for it, he made no attempt to catch it, he ran from his position to cover the legit catcher. Penalty 100%. They might have changed the rule before this game, apologies if so, but that was the rule 2 months ago.

Anyone with a shred of common sense could see what he was doing....he moved into the line of the attacking player hands up or not...he was never catching the ball

Great win Newcastle. They are playing tough and committed footy in this finals series. Not necessarily skilful but showing plenty of ticker.
Warriors just that bit too inexperienced in the spine. They’ll be back next year and go hard again.
