When I’m constructing a post I use the lens: would I say this face to face with mates in a pub? If I can answer yes then I post it. Sometimes I think it’s too easy to post resentful or threatening or bigoted posts on an anonymous forum. It truly would be good to meet each other from time to time. If we did this I’m pretty confident the standard of posts would increase.

Well Tiger Steve,on occasions over the last couple of years I have organised a meet and greet for forum members to catch up and meet each other personally, usually at Campbelltown at the Wests leagues club when WTs are playing at the CSS..
The usual thing to do is meet for lunch have some beers and then go on to the game whereby I mostly tear strips off the opposition players and their supporters..I really get enjoyment out of that..
If I have the time in the next couple of weeks I think the 3rd round is at CSS against the Dogs...I can organise for the forum members to meet at the bistro in the club at midday and go from there..I have had a really hard 16 months and haven't had much time to get the forum members interested in a catchup but will see how we go...

Having been to one of TT's catch-ups, I highly recommend them.

Would also be nice if anyone wanted to have a beer at the Orange Grove before rd 2.

Life's circumstances, which were already changing for the initial get together TT arranged, haven't had me in a position to attend a further one at this point, but the guys and girls there were very accommodating. I was also intending to pop over for a chat with a few forumers that posted their seating areas at Parramatta stadium last season, but again unfortunately was unable to.

Things have improved somewhat, so can hopefully get to catch up when possible if the location is kid friendly.

Hey Bryce,we will be able to meet at Wests bistro like last time, the young fella is always welcome and its nice at Wests...

And when you said me you meant someone else. Do you realise how crazy that sounds?

Agree with you 100% @Tiger_Steve re constructing a post, whether it be about Colin Kaepernick or Wests Tigers or anything else that has the slightest chance of upsetting posters.
For instance, I was taken to task by a poster I will not name as I am not vindictive, but this poster was able to twist what I said and is completely mistaken by what I said. So all I can say again is you are correct and : the simplest thing cannot be made clear to the most intelligent person if that person is
firmly persuaded that he knows already, without a shadow of a doubt, what is laid before him.

I’ll admit I have been vindictive a couple of times and have regretted it straight away. Usually when I’m half cut! I liked Ink’s advice that he got from another poster: argue the issue not the person. I really hate it when someone is labelled brainless or a pretend supporter or whinged etc etc for simply having an alternate view

I agree with this Steve, as you know I am fairly opinionated and I have allowed certain posters to get under my skin in the past. My problem, as you would have seen, is that I'm also opinionated in person lol.

I agree, it's the same idea as road rage - how badly some people will behave within the relative anonymity of their car, but wouldn't be so bold or aggressive o unreasonable just walking down the street.

I have to agree with this and will say that I am not always the most diplomatic of people both in here and in general. I am always in trouble of my wife for being arrogant. I will say that over the last few years some crappy things in my life have knocked that out of me a little, so it could be much worse for you guys if life didn't try to even the score on my arrogance lol.

Not if you understand the English language. It’s pretty common to use the word “you” when speaking generally. I even made sure to point out I wasn’t referring to you personally, yet you still can’t let it go.

Sorry mate, I was expecting you to add something, or at least give a reason why you are happy to accuse me of doing / writing/ thinking etc something that someone else may have written? I’m fine with it. Just thought of giving you the opportunity to clear the air, but that’s ok. I guess I’m just not familiar with social media, I thought it would be more like face to face or phone conversation. Anyway, No hard feelings. Cheers.
This was your full post to me..

I’m chill mate, no problem. Have a good afternoon.

We’re all opinionated mate. We just need to be respectful - as you are.

So true and perfect analogy. Funny story - about 1 year ago a bloke abused me because I cut him off apparently (I didn’t realise). As he was yelling abuse the car in front of him brakes and he went straight up his backside. Funny!

Karma at work

This bloke is nothing short of a full time grub. He may have had the right reasons behind his stance to start with, but he quickly realised he could make a living out of it. We don’t need his crap here, a certain group is doing the game enough damage already, without him.

Donates more than $1m of his own money to charity, tries to create awareness of African American mistreatment by the police and sets up a foundation for under privileged kids. What a monster, get him out of our game!

I don't see anyone here that has called you a racist..odd post

It’s racist on two fronts:

1. Separating people via colour and implying one colour has control over the other

2. Outright saying one colour is so inferior that the superior colour is throwing them a bone by giving them a leg up that they can’t achieve on their own. And in return, the inferior colour needs to fall into line and know their place.

“But i’m not racist”

It’s not something that one ever admits to is it? It’s not admitted to because said person believes those thoughts are justified. If it’s justified, how is it racist?
