I’ll start it off . Charlie from MMM. I can’t stand that guy. Rich kid from the eastern beaches , gets a job at MMM because his parents run the joint , gets promoted because his parents run the joint , and now speaks as if he’s a bastion of NRL knowledge . He’s a nepo baby dweeb , who’s nrl thoughts start from the shit coming out of James Grahams arsehole all the way to feeding off on Ricchio leftovers from Isaac Moses . He is the epitome of bottom feeder when it comes to nrl journalism . Shits me !
He’s literally the reason I don’t listen to MMM anymore .

I can't stand our old mate James Hooper & his desperation for acceptance.

Joel Caine also, he doesn't come across as authentic to me. He doesn't have much nice to say about us either.

Never liked Braith as a player but he's been great in the media, seems to be fair & speaks well. I always liked Benny Ikin too and I didn't mind Kenty even though I didn't think he was genuine.

Guys like Kent are so hypocritical. He was super critical of NRL players yet the bloke has 26 beers and faceplants a tree in his down time.

He use to get fired up over some real minuscule stuff... just seemed like outrage for the sake of it.
 
I find it funny how we cling to the media who say nice things .....but when they are critical they become the Devils spawn

I hate James Graham with a passion. Rude, arrogant, obtrusive and down right dumb. He is wrong in 90% of the dribble that comes our of his mouth. Wont let other people talk, and makes fun and belittles people that clearly are more intelligent than him.

James Hooper. An absolute bottom feeder telling blatant lies just to get views. Screaming that we are paying Luai 700k to play for Parra. The guy is a grub.

Jimmy Smith. Higher than thou westie who thinks he is eastern suburbs elite.

I dont want to talk ill of the passed, but remember Rebecca Wilson? She was a classic for targeting players misdemeanours, all the while she racked up a heap of drink driving charges herself.
 
The bye round use to be good but has gone to the absolute dog house….

Charlie is a no body producer and seems to tie the Tigers into drama every week to get the clicks up. Jimmy Graham is so biased in his opinions (Bulldogs)…absolute dribble.
 
Traditional NRL media is trash.

Really enjoyed listening to the Levels podcast for general league stuff. Never thought I would enjoy listening to Willie Mason but there you go.Good footy chat without the gossip and rage-bait.

Shout out to the WTF boys and Wests Tigers TV for Tigers related stuff.

I rarely listen to commentary anymore.

I’m very sensitive to commentary. I can only handle a few. And those are Warren Smith, Brandy and depending on the day Voss. He sometimes gets on my nerves. Dan Ginane is the absolute pits. One of the worst commentators I’ve ever heard. Just screams randomly. One commentator I used to hate back in the day, with a passion was Andrew Moore. As a commentator he was an abusive POS. A player would make an elementary mistake and he’d lose it like he had money riding on the game. The player makes another one, and he’d be a full blown target for abuse. Never understood why he was like that. From the little I’ve heard of his commentary the last few years, he seems to have mellowed a bit.

Can’t stand Cronk or Vos both are condescending dheads. Cronk just thinks he’s too special and Vos tries way to hard to be funny. Ennis and Graham are just plain dumbarses and both are hard to listen to.
Most of the so called NRL journalists are absolutely full of sh*t - they make it up as they go along.
Brandy and Slater are OK for mine.
 
As an adult, almost none of it is worth watching anymore. Anything good eventually gets turned into a gambling sponsorship. I don't know if The Fan is still around, but I think I would've loved that as a kid, same with League Life or whatever the interview show is called.

The long-running shows that don't became gambling ads, like the 9 Footy Show and the Matty Johns Show, suffer from not refreshing their formats and rehashing the same tired jokes and tropes every week for years on end.

The only rugby league media I like are the ones where you get an actual insight on how the game works: pre-season documentaries, Matty and Cronk, I don't live in Australia but I get the occasional clip of Billy Slater and I like hearing what he has to say, bloke in a bar used to be great before it became punt in a bar. But again, as soon as I start hearing about odds, I switch off. I live in NZ, so you can imagine my fury when Sky Sport NZ cut away from Jai Arrow's 100th game walk out for a gambling ad.

Basically **** gambling advertising. A scourge on the game.
 
Jimmy Smith from SEN.. i find him so arrogant, i always text in and give to him about how he always gives it to the Tigers. Hates us with a passion, typical Eastern suburbs wanker, but forgets that he played for the Magpies

It's already on its way. I don't think league will ever beat out the All Blacks in terms of popularity, but the level below it will have better ratings and player numbers within 10-15 years.

Something about the media coverage of rugby union in NZ is that it is so, so, SO BORING. You could put a baby to sleep watching their talk shows. I know a lot of people dislike NRL media personalities, but one thing you can never call the NRL or its coverage is dull or boring. Once people see what the NRL has to offer, they start to forget super rugby even exists.
