Both teams of pretenders have been shown up badly today.Souffs and squeels can be discounted as chances this year

I didn’t think souffs were much anyway, today just confirmed that

Cannon fodder come finals time .

Great win by Manly who no doubt went to the next level in honour of Bozo.
We had two cracks to honour Tommy - both games were all but over in the first 25 mins 🙁

Real shame eh.
Manly showing how it should be done.

Manly have a good side for the way the NRL have decided the game will be played.

They have speed and a lot of players who are good with the ball.Turbo brothers,Schulster and DCE can all ball play and they have good finishers. The six again rule suits them down to the ground.

As for hating Manly, like them a lot more than Parra,Souths and the Chooks

Paraphrasing here. Wayne Bennett was asked how do you turn it around. His response was I’ll let you know when we get it. Imagine the furore if Madge gave that response, the forum would implode.

Season has become terribly boring - Storm V Panthers GF again. Only interest will be if Penrith can go through undefeated.

yeah that's fair.

but I'd be happy if they lost 2 games in however long, and they were be both grand finals. I'd get years out of that over my Panfers mates....years

Wayne Bennett takes brutal swipe at Benji Marshall after Rabbitohs thrashing

Wayne Bennett’s Bunnies couldn’t match it with the Panthers on Sunday but he insists one benched star wouldn’t have helped turn the tide.

The Panthers utterly embarrassed the Rabbitohs on Sunday afternoon, leaving Souths’ premiership credentials in tatters with their 56-12 win at Dubbo’s Apex Park.

The return of Campbell Graham, Latrell Mitchell and Josh Mansour into the cardinal and myrtle ranks did little to quell the Penrith onslaught, as the Rabbitohs let in 50 points for the second time in three weeks.

As the scoreline began to blow out, many were left scratching their heads when coach Wayne Bennett chose not to inject veteran playmaker Benji Marshall into the action.

Marshall, who was given the flick by the Tigers at the end of last season, has proven a handy pick-up for the Bunnies, turning the clock back to become the perfect secret weapon off the Rabbitohs’ bench.

The 36-year-old would have done better to spend the 80 minutes at Dubbo’s Western Plains Zoo, however, as he played not a single second in Sunday’s shellacking.

Asked whether he thought about subbing the 2005 Premiership-winner into the game, Bennett didn’t have to think too hard before answering.

“No I didn’t, I wasn’t going to embarrass him,” the super coach said.

“We weren’t defending (well) … Benji’s not known as the greatest defender the game’s ever seen”.

Bennett called the Rabbitohs’ loss “pretty disappointing”, but conceded that the Panthers put on a “wonderful” performance in the central west.

Makes me ill just thinking about it. The difference is Bob Fulton was a Manly legend, Tommy was a Wests legend, not a Wests Tigers legend - that and the fact that we’re just crap lol.

Manly’s turnaround from their early season form is amazing and good luck to them, it’s good to see them playing so well. The only thing I hate about it is that Aloiai gets to be a part of it. I really wanted that knob to go from bad to worse when he unceremoniously dumped us, but of course there is never seems to be any karma for the players that ditch us 🙄

Getting Marshall out there would have ensured an even more hideous result for Souffs. Probably would have got done by another dozen or more. I can be having the crappiest day turn into one that's sweet as simply with a Souffs hammering.
