Well if you want to line your pockets at the expense of the Roosters ...reckon Warriors might get them ...I think they are paying $3

3rd party agreements may need 2 b scrapped

That is a difficult one as you are then banning players from legitmmately earning income off their brand. I don't agree with that.

I'm sure it's been said by many, but the NRL is in big trouble this year. It's great seeing the skills of Mitchell, Paps and Teddy, but these matches are dire. Typical scoreline seems to be about 38-6 these days and even in early stages of matches you can see that scoreline coming. How did it get so bad? Is it that the new rules just make it hard for bad teams to have a good day? Even then, that doesn't really fully explain it to me. Rarely seen such predictable results.

The NRL talent pool has diminished over the last few years ..
Stringer clubs manage to hang onto there star players and also have the means to acquire the better players ..
My 2 cents

The talent is there. It’s just truncated into a few teams that seem to have a never ending cap. It’s becoming ridiculous. Rorters, Storm, Rabbits - crazy rosters.

Never ending cap is a bit harsh describing melb.

Yeah sorry. Storm have never abused the cap?

Ah c'mon Steve. What is it ? Ten years ago?

They have a proven history of doing whatever it takes to maintain a superior roster. Nothing has changed.
My point is that this needs to be addressed as there needs to be a natural cycle off achievement and rebuild. This no longer happens with the power clubs. Their rebuild takes about 4 weeks. Already this year the top 6 is a given. Why will fans continue to support when they know there is no chance?

I agree with the state of the comp. I think the NRL are turning a blind eye to it. Possibly happy for some clubs to perish.

I don't really think this would be a deliberate strategy. There's no scenario where Brisbane getting flogged every week is good for the NRL financially.

Not the broncs mate. I'm not even suggesting a deliberate strategy either, but if some Sydney clubs slowly get worse and worse then I'm not sure they are that concerned.

is not the 3rd party unfair /mayb cap it,i think this year is just a blip, knee jerk reactions are a common thing these days, roll it back 15yrs,penalize all year if must, league almost had it in ivan/bus days but crumbled

Only 40 pts?... A very underwhelming and disappointing performance by the Storm.
That said, can't wait to see my Bonco's mates faces at work after they were so smug beating the All-Powerful Doggies last week...?

They got souffs and the riff next.

Nice...?

They tried that and all the commentators complained until they pulled the plug on it.

Yeah the gap between the teams that have and those who have not is probably the worst I’ve seen in over 50 years of watching the game. Three blowout scores in as many games already this weekend doesn’t make for good viewing. The comp’s a joke, there’s no doubt they’re looking to cull some teams.

But look at next week there's four or five games could go either way... It's just a very lopsided round ?

I don't remember such a bunch of teams playing so badly in my life... Manly, Dogs, Broncos, Cowboys. I can't work out why, given that nobody (to my knowledge) was tipping them to be flogged so regularly, leading into the season start. How has it got to this?

The new rules play a big part but if you look at the teams coaches and their squads it's not that surprising haha. They have a more duds than talent mostly

There's a lot of these games this year

Shows the growing gap of top teams vs bottom

Good idea, they can watch their NRL perish along with them.
