This is a problem with the inequities of the NRL all the star players want to join the few elite clubs, and they sign for a lot less money than the other club have to pay.
Until the NRL address these few clubs being stacked with all the very best players available, there are going to be more of these lopsided scores.

Evenly distributing talented players to clubs does nothing to help clubs address their internal issues - i.e. that the club and its systems are garbage. In sporting codes with those systems you often find clubs using star signings to paper over the cracks. If I was a player with options I don't think I would want to play for a club which isn't addressing its issues.
