Very gutsy display by Canberra but it's sickening to see some of the calls Souffs get, and gee Benji is a dead set cat, hiding behind a Canberra player to get a try disallowed for an obstruction and then throwing the ball away to get a penalty.

Great sportsmanship by Benji, but I guess some would say it's gamesmanship.

I hate how players have to resort to tactics like Benji did, so souths can win the game
We all saw how Benji purposely used a Canberra player or two to for obstruction to be called so Canberra were disallowed a try
Benji just didn't want his tackling abilities to be on show
How a player can be called MOM or be seen to have a great game when they have to resort to tactics like that is a joke
This game we all once loved is Turing into a joke
A farce
I thought soccer was bad by players taking dives and faking injuries
Our game has turned soft and Benji just highlighted that again tonight
It is blatant cheating and he was allowed to get away with it because it is in the rules
He milked it for all it was worth
That's not the sign of a good player
He should be embarrassed for that attempt

Technically an obstruction but we all know Benji would not have made that tackle.

Would've been great to hear ol' Henry Perenium in the bunker say "the Raiders player has used his teammate as an obstruction .......then again it's Benji Marshall and he was no hope of making the tackle anyway let's be honest, try Raiders". The truth would be magnificent to see in this day and age of manipulated results.

Souths got booby-fed the penalty count to the tune of around 8-1.
I would much rather win the penalty count than the set restart count- penalties from in front of the sticks are guaranteed points. Souths got at least 2, perhaps 3 of these. 4-6 points in the bank. Would love to get the ref in your back pocket like the Rabbitohs get week upon week. Massive difference to the outcome of games.

Spot on I agree... I watched the Raiders game last night and the 8-1 penalty count was a joke and they were just taken out of the game.. Same as us a few weeks ago V souths. A lot of them penalties were correct but Souths are not perfect (except if your the ref in the game).. Its a shame it just ruins a good game and I'm not a fan of either team.

Unfortunately we will never have a fair and equal competition while Sutton x2 Klein and Cummins are involved.They decide results with their "slant" and who gets the penalties and 6 agains.Last night was another example of favoured teams getting a huge leg up.
Under the current refereeing regime they are a protected species

Penalties received in your own half are equivalent to 9 tackle sets ..
I’d say Ricky does give a ? otherwise he wouldn’t be blowing up ?

I keep saying .....they need to get rid of set restarts when you are in your own 20 ...should always be a penalty

Yeah it is, Justin Holbrook virtually accused the ref of favouring Souths last week with a brilliant post match statement that just called it as it is. I’m surprised he didn’t get fined for it actually. If I can find it again I’ll post it.
