LIVE GAME NRL Round 3 *Spoilers

Live Game Discussion
Players like that don't come along too often do they.
Manly let him go.....

He's so well rounded and an absolute star.
I've been saying it for ages, got shot down a few times before he signed with Sharks.

I believe we could've signed him and made him the best centre in the game but he's great everywhere.

Massive loss and I believe we never really tried anyway but yeah he's my fav player outside our team.

Finucane is a good player. I really like him. I'm so glad we didn't get him though. He is a really good player on lower dollars which the Storm would have had him on. I reckon he is a dud signing on a big dollar long term contract.

Hynes on the other hand is a difference maker.

If he keeps playing like he is now it'll be a good one.

I don't reckon Finucane's contract is a good one. I watched the game. There were plenty of forwards for Cronulla who were a better than Finuance but Finucane is getting paid top dollar. I think that means over the course of his contact Cronulla lose players because they overpaid Finucane.

Hopefully see what happens with nikora and pele

Nokora isn't great though is he. He is decent. Luc is a better player than him though so we need to pay Nikora less than Luc.

I hope we get Pele. He looks like a hard running prop which is exactly what we need.

We have way too many good but worker like middle forwards. Twal, Joe O and Tamou are all that middle rung worker type player. Finucane would be an upgrade on those three but more of the same.

I think Nikora is plain. He's not the type you'd make a priority signing.

I sort of thought the same about Finucane but it seems the whole rest of the Sharks pack has gone up a notch. Whether that's him or the new coach, I don't know but he's probably got something to do with it. Anyway, the whole team seem to be happy with each other and enjoying their footy which is a completely different look to WT.

It would be a fairly front loaded 4 year contract. If he isn't performing in 3 years, they'd be looking to switch his $$ to make him a mentor or coach of some kind.

But guys like Finucane, they bring a lot off the field and leadership on it. They make everyone else a better player. He's still one of the first people Bellamy picks in his squad.

Guys like Talakai, Nikora, Rudolph will benefit a lot in their training with Finucane there.

Sharks are looking awesome.

The Sharks are relentless in attack, very exciting brand of footy. No matter how long they’re pinned in their own 20, they’ll just keep coming and coming until they’ve broken through.

Kudos to St George too though. Unlike our mob last week, they didn't give in. Even though the scoreline ended up pretty similar, they were still having a dig. As said above, the refs certainly didn't want them in the contest. It was pretty even until the Sau sin bin, then all Sharks.

Hoping our blokes rip and tear tonight. We need to target the Warriors 3rd choice halves and knock any sort of cohesion out of their attacking sets. Hoping Laurie gets back to attacking the ball and having a dig, like he did last year.

Fitzgibbon has done exceptional to take a team with some big changes to key positions and get them clicking in just 3 rounds.

They have been running great plays with fluency. You don't see that stuff so quickly when there are so many mass changes to a team and coaching staff.

Most weren't thrilled with Morris getting the sack, but it seems to have been the right decision based on the limited game time we've seen.

Yep, Saints were good, did everything right. It's just that Cronulla were absolutely on song.

What is it about this Sharks club? How did they recover and become so competitive?

The WT need not try to be like the Storm or the Roosters,
Because had the WT emulated the Sharks since 2013 the WT fans would have been much more than happy with that.

Beau Ryan described it as “It ripped the league apart.”
Despite the Sharks being rocked and almost decimated by the 2011 ASADA doping scandal not only did they recover from it in a short time but they also won their first premiership in 2016, and they have been making the finals in almost every season since and are super competitive in every game.

In comparision, since 2012 the WT did not get rocked by a massive scandal but all that happened was that WT decided to end the relationship with the long serving (9years) coach T Sheens, but the effects of it was, it was as if we were doped and not them.

With our vast region and the abundance of junior talent, other clubs could of had 2-3 rebuilds in that time.
I still can not believe and understand how that this decision of replacing the coach has caused the WT to remain in total disarray since 2012 and are still in the process of a rebuild?

If the Sharks can achieve all this then the Tigers can achieve it in a much faster time, welcome back T Sheens.

It hurts watching other teams play we are so far behind them.
Fittler said it all - the Sharks' team plays for each, do the basics well and have a crisp short passing game. They look a well-coached side. I believe it was Gould who said any team with those qualities will do well. Enough written really.

There aren't too many Sharks' juniors in their side. Besides the hooker, I am hard pressed to name another. They have a good scouting network and bring in quality juniors.
