They check and re-check some attempted tries that are nowhere near being a legitimate try. But for Luciano's one it was apparently clear cut to the useless reserve-grader ref that it wasn't a try and not worth checking. The whole system is broken.

The video ref could have looked at it independantly and advised the ref,however he probably had pornhub on instead

I know mate, bloody hopeless.
I reckon the bunker was introduced for betting.
I believe in horse racing it's not won until it's been given the all clear.
Take the decision out of the ref's hands altogether.
1. Ask for input from both sides
2. Give his opinion only and don't say onfield try/no try
3. Bunker checks and gives red or green light.
Or scrap the system.
A ref is human and even if he swears black and blue a try it is no try or vise versa, many times video has proven them wrong.
Vid refs get it wrong too but are in a better position with use of tech to get it right.
Vid ref maybe given time limit of 2½ hrs to decide 😁
