NRL season 2017: Laurie Daley and Geoff Toovey added to shortlist to coach Wests Tigers

Let's presume that the Tigers haven't committed to a new coach to take over yet. Let's throw up a few options to take over, you have the obvious contenders being Ivan Cleary and Geoff Toovey.

After hearing of Laurie Daley as an option I started to wonder of other outside the square options such as the following:

Steve Folkes
Mal Meninga
Kevin Walters

We need a proven NRL head coach, not an assistant, not a bloke who coaches a rep side once a year, an experienced first grade head coach who has left sides in better shape than he found them.

Right now that's Toovey or Cleary.

Who knows, Wayne Bennet might be due to quit Brisbane again.
