Moses' kicking game is just as impressive as Cleary's. It's a myth that he can't perform in big games. He just plays for Parramatta, a team that struggles in big games. His boot is often the reason they can even compete with top teams.
Great player, as is Cleary.
Moses is a choker. Goes missing when it really counts. He’s a child pretending to play with the big boys.
That's strange... he seems to help his team play with the big boys every year.
And how does he go against the big boys?
Played pretty well against Melbourne twice this year. He played 2 great finals games this year as well. He set up a try with a broken back during origin. Are you deliberately forgetting these games or...?
Where was he last night? He sucks
Moses blows. He's better than Brooks, unfortunately, but he also plays in a better side with better support like Brown and Gutherson. The Eels go-forward is huge, arguably the best in the comp with RCG and Junior Paulo, Nathan Brown, Niukore, Papali'i. A halfback cannot ask for a better attacking platform than that.
The one defence I'll raise for Brooks is he never gets a consistent forwards platform to play off. Storm showed finals week 1, even a bloke as dynamic as Turbo cannot do anything if you destroy his side's go-forward.
Moses season 2021 was 20 try assists and 8 line break assists - this means most of his try assists came from kicks. It's a good thing to have a tactical kicking game, but your bread and butter needs to be pass-based attack, because kicking is less predictable and you have far less control. Dylan Brown contributed 2 try assists and 2 LB assists all season - not good enough output from your halves pairing.
Compare both Eels halves to Cody Walker who currently has 33 try assists and 44 line break assists. Not even a contest, he has them both covered by a country mile. DCE has 27 try assists, 19 LB assists. Jahrome Hughes has 19 and 13.
I just don’t understand this rule that if you criticise Moses, you have to acknowledge Brooks. I take joy out of Moses failing because he’s a germ, that’s why I laughed at him for again failing. As flawed as Brooks is, i don’t think people want him to fail as he comes across as a reserved, easy going guy. Moses has a face you want to belt with a blunt object.
That's them hey, the comparisons been around since day one.
Moses is the arrogant, cocky, loud mouth banking specialist and Luke is the quiet, shy, nice guy.
U20s partnership that worked with both growing up to be I guess you could say the higher of the mid tier level halves kicking around.
Probably could both reach crazy levels of success within an easier completion such as super league.
Personally don't like either of them but like them both more than Cleary.
