Like Lattrell Mitchell succeeding, being proud of his heritage and being welcomed by the white dominated world in which he exists? That’s a great positive message and one I’m sure, by your own words, you’d like to encourage. I wonder if there’s some way the NRL could help with that message. Any thoughts?

Yep, Latrell could tone down the attitude by about 80%, his mate Cody by 99% and tell a lot of his mates to do the same.

It would be much easier for the Aboriginal culture to garner empathy if they dropped the attitude.

Here it comes: you don't have a problem with them provided they know their place and don't get too uppity, right?

Once again - misinterpreted right.

I don't have a problem at all - don't think about it much to be honest - I am talking about football - Rugby League football.

I don't have a problem with anyone that doesn't set out to do me mischief and is respectful and let's me get on with my life in peace.

I'm only talking football (outside of that it is whole new ballgame, which I'm not interested in debating).

I'm talking about attitude, that I am better than you, that I'm not interested in what you think, what you believe, what you stand for etc. it's not part of my culture. Strutting around beating their chest etc.etc.

Doesn't go down well with me - we are all humans, all like RL, all get enjoyment from it - let's all enjoy the greatest game of all as one people.

I dislike any other group that have attitude just as much, by the way, before you misinterpret that statement as well.

I'm also glad that you don't care about seeing an aboriginal flag. Presumably now you can stop ranting about how angry it makes you that there was one on an advert.

Yes, you have "no choice any more" but sometimes to be confronted with the reality that people with other cultures and lifestyles exist. I'm sorry you are so triggered by that. Honestly, I think it's sad that you find it so threatening.

See, your now assuming that the sight of the flag makes me angry... ive done my best to clearly explain why I have the opinion I do however if all you want to do is assume how I feel about a flag and cultures which I have never mentioned either by the way, or even assume that I am threatened by any of this, it’s pointless replying. I’m not triggered, I am clearly and openly expressing my issue of everyone over saturating politically correct points. To be honest I think it’s sad that it’s got to a point where people can’t express their opinions without being labelled as a racist when I am clearly not. But that’s the point isnt it. Everytime someone wants to oppose anything these days, automatically they are. Enjoy your day mate.

Please point to where I've called you racist, without referring to your feelings or beliefs that this is what normally happens. You won't be able to, as I haven't. You have a great day too.

Your right, I apologise, you didn’t call me racist. However in my defence you did say I was angered, triggered and threatened when confronted by a flag and cultures.. I was simply putting two and two together. Seems I miscalculated would like to retract that comment.

All good mate. The funny thing is, all this stuff would probably be fine if it wasn't all being conducted online. If I saw you in a pub I don't doubt we'd totally disagree on lots of things but I'd like to think we could do so over a beer and on the fundamental basis that we don't assume each other to be dickheads. Anyway, let's leave it there. Have a good day.

Yeah, I thought the Adam Goodes stuff was damning, but there is some of the same problem here - people don't want to see stuff like passionate indiginenous pride - or there is bound to be offense and anger to it. I am not sending back anger to the people who react this way, I just can't understand where they are coming from. 'Be aboriginal, just tone down the attitude' 'dont hold the flag' 'dont point at your skin' 'just act like any of the white players, then i wont be offended' kinda stuff. That's what I am hearing from some people.

I hated Goodes sooooooooo much......because he was a fantastic footballer and didn't play for my team......

So I boo him and get called a racist......no matter what my points were because he's Aboriginal and I shouldn't boo him......

I don't care what colour/culture/background you are.....if you play against my team I will boo you, you play for my team I'll cheer.....

The only colour important to me is the ones you wear on your jersey

So you're aware that the NRL allows Australian and New Zealand flags to be associated with its competition and - quite rightly - gives them prominence at appropriate times. Otherwise, you're perfectly happy with inclusivity and indeed are so supportive of it that you get furious when there isn't absolutely equal representation of all flags in all bits of NRL marketing material. The idea that the Tongan flag might appear in a Friday Night Football commercial for half a second longer than the Lebanese one drives you crazy with righteous rage. This is a perfectly logical position and one I wholeheartedly applaud. I look forward to seeing your final 2020 spreadsheet noting appearances of James Graham relative to Maika Sivo on NRL preview shows.

Wow.......

I think your response is a bit over the top....and I was simply asking that if you're going to have a flag there of one culture who makes rugby league great.....then maybe you should include all flags of all players that make rugby league great.....

Not furious at all....quite calm and mellow

But I think you need a Becks and a lie down.....

I do feel we are going through a transition period. In the future seeing different cultures or genders or sexualities in TV won't be considered 'woke', it will just be normal. I think some people are finding it strange as they are used to seeing straight white people mostly in the media. It will change though, people will be used to it.

Lol I was going to post the link
I had a good laugh

I did feel the add was smart as the AFL still has bad press on the issues which are known, this was in my opinion sticking it to em, like sucked in, we are the diverse code that embraces it all, we don't have your shit. But we do I guess 🤷‍♂️ Maybe not as bad 🤷‍♂️

I'm not clear when the term "woke" went from being a good thing to being pejorative. The word is of African-American origin and has been mis-appropriated as a means to criticise people who express sensitivities so social justice matters.
