I would of dropped Nofoaluma for Fonua. Despite him playing on the left wing in ISP he played on the right wing in the Super League. I would of dropped Sue for Twal. And I would of dropped Godinet for Gamble or Mcllwrick or just scrapped a bench hooker or half altogether to make way for Twal and keep Sue as well so E.T could play hooker if Liddle needed a rest. Then Eiso could go to lock.

A couple of things I have noticed about Ivan's selections….

He only makes calculated changes, causing the least disruption, like for like, and keeps the roles simple without asking players to swap and change roles during a game. He would rather rely on each players fitness and work done in preseason for extra minutes from them rather than bring new untried players in on the bench. For instance, I can't imagine him bringing in Gamble and throwing him in at fullback or centre as some are suggesting.

Ivan choses his 1-17 and rarely changes it unless there's an injury issue. Reserves are just that - chosen for cover in positions that may require back up. McQueen and Fonua recently are being given rewards for them stepping up, so he names them to show them that they are moving into the framework for future selection. Perhaps its his incentive.

Godinet's bench selection ahead of MM or a 4th big forward surprises me, but Ivan must prefer him to fill the role of Liddle over MM, and it seems he wants ET to remain in his starting role and not mess with his forward rotations. Perhaps Godinet shows more ability to do the job at training and can play at half at a pinch of he had to,

Yeah unlike Bennett who is playing McGuire at 9 apparently. The aged pensioner has lost his marbles

Taylor is a big loss and makes the team look a lot weaker. I also find it strange having a half and a back as the reserves, we’re in trouble if a forward goes down in the warm up.

hope our two captains can spend 80 mins on the field.

amount of injuries is concerning but no big injuries is good news

Would be a reasonable case for an exemption, provided of course that there is a forward at the venue.

We really are due some luck. Haven’t been able to run out our best 17 yet. Tui, Grub, Taylor, Packer all missing from the original top 17.

Sue and Grant both in the top 17 concerns me. Both can be lazy defenders. Need them to really stand up tomorrow.

I have also noticed we have lost 5/7 penalty counts again this year so far.. The refs clearly do not like us for some reason.

While we are only 4 points off the competition lead, 2 if we win, we are also only 2 points off 9th position.
This is a huge game for us, beating the knights and parra would have set up our season.
Now after losing to the knights, we can't afford to lose again to another team we should beat

Good team considering our injuries. I like the bench a lot! Good to see Eisenhuth back at lock also. I really hope Sue can have one of his rare great games today 😛ray:
