Foxtel survives at my place it would seem now.

Well played, Rupert.

EPL could still be a game changer

   that is all…

Your speaking out of your derriere again

Try English

I'll bet you ..hold on can't do that…I'll tell you with this new deal of all 8 games live on Fox in HD plus the dedicated league channel from 2017 subscriptions will increase...

I was speaking for myself , not the general public Geo

Well that clears that up…perhaps add for me next time so it's more obvious...

Earlier in this thread you were counting the cost to Fox that the loss of the EPL would be…not hard to think that the post was a continuation of that dribble...

Do I have to explain this again Dopey ??

I was talking about the cost of lost customers , many people will pull their subscription to Fox if they lose the EPL rights or force them to pay for EPL as an extra channel

Are you with me now ??

You are going to give me a tumour one day I swear

And for the dummy…. the New broadcast deal with the NRL will gain them many more subscribers *customers than they will lose...care to bet...?

No doubt losing the EPL rights was a big loss, but if loosing the EPL meant that they were able to secure this new NRL deal then i'm OK with it.

Of course I'm happy that NRL will get its own TV channel, and all games will now be live etc, BUT Fox losing EPL is a BIG LOSS world-wide.

I'm not sure…. But id think they'd lose a lot more subscriptions losing EPL than what they'd gain with the new NRL deal

To be fair Ink, I have a lot of mates who love their Football, particularly the English and Australian leagues, and none are going to give Foxtel the hoist with the new NRL deal (that's not to say that everyone thinks like that.) Likewise, I don't think you'd see the subscriptions drop in the Mexican Eggball states either because they'd like be AFL fans as well and they'd be unlikely to give Foxtel the flick when they have their own channel already.

I'd say there'd be a few people who don't have Foxtel for philosophical reasons rather than financial that may get it now because all eight games will be live and it will have it's own dedicated channel. It may end up offsetting whatever Football die hards that give it up (likely Southern English/Irish/Scottish expats who don't give two hoots about League.)

but but Happy is leaving so I expect Fox to go into receivership…

This new 24 hour 7 days a week channel will be brilliant

Seeing that Fox is linked to the DT we should be able to hear all our dirty laundry at any given moment

Be careful what you wish for …........

It will cease when the boardroom is sorted out in 2016 and Taylor is punted.

Don't derail the thread.

Can anyone explain the Friday 6pm slot to me? Obviously the crowds won't be great but I don't see it as a great TV-watching slot either.

Even if you use the time zones to advantage for this slot - Qld at the start of the season and NZ - do the Warriors really want to play all their home games on Friday night? The Cows won't and the Broncos will be on Channel 9 every week.

I think you'll find clubs would love a guaranteed 7 day turnaround every week, just ask the Broncos.
