He used to play for Canterbury u20s & nsw cup
 
He was a gun NYC fullback from the Bulldogs side a few years ago.

Fell off the face of the earth it seemed but has been playing for Wests RM Cup side.
 
Taukafa not named either for either this side of RM Cup. Don't recall him being injured
 
Then again Abou-Sleiman is named in the RM Cup side.

Game day will tell. They may get Alofi to replace Sleiman
 
A quick Google shows that Abou-Sleiman had a stint in Japanese Rugby after leaving the Bulldogs due to lack of opportunity.

Bet they wish they had him now, Perrett at fullback lol.
 
Interesting that they're giving Cherrington a run in NSW Cup while Luani is in first grade but they didn't do the same with Moses when Austin went up. Wonder what the thinking behind that is.
 
Aside from the pedestrian halves pairing it looks like a decent side. Andrew Vela should be available in a couple of weeks too I think.
 
Cherrington would have been a brilliant inclusion, remember Brooks last year against the Stains, Moses is still feeling his way back from a broken leg so it might be a little too much so early in the season, better to have him firing at the back end of the season or not at all.

Big Marty Taupau had a hip flexor problem in the cowboys game.Maybe something to do with this???Hope not but if it is good luck Jack.Fire up young man.
 
BMM must be playing o.k. in State Cup. The following paragraph is taken from the NRL website's preview of this afternoon's State Cup match at Belmore between Bulldogs and Wests Tigers.

"Many good individual match ups await here but none more so that up front with Sam Kasiano and Ben Murdoch-Masila. Murdoch-Masila has possibly been the form forward of the competition of late while we all know what Kasiano is capable of at his best. Both very different players yet very effective in their own way. Should be a beauty."

Yeah that means nothing. Does the writer for the website attend any nsw cup matches. doubtful. BMM scored a few easy tries early on, but his involvement has been poor for the past few weeks. Very lazy. Thats why Akaoula was called up over him. Very telling.
