Wests Tigers NSW Cup Coach Paul Fletcher has named his side to take on the Wentworthville Magpies for their Round 24 clash this week.

Kickoff for the match is at 3:00pm on Sunday, August 24 from Ringrose Park.

Having moved into the top two of the competition with a 24-16 win over Illawarra Cutters in Round 23, Wests Tigers will look to finish their final two games with another solid performance to secure a home semifinal — starting this week against Wentworthville.

The visitors thumped the then competition-leading Magpies 52-16 when they met earlier in the year, but will field a very different team due to injuries and NRL call-ups.

Fletcher will welcome back powerful winger John Sila this week, with versatile back-rower Sitaleki Akauola also returning to the side once more from his NRL call-up.

Hopefully the boys can continue on their winning ways again this week. Forward pack looks a little light but full of workers so hopefully they get the job done.

The State Cup side has two wingers, Sila and Taukafa, why could not either of these players have been brought into the first grade side? If is illegal then Wests Tigers' first priority must be to complain to the NRL about the absurdity of the ruling and how impotent it makes a club like ours which is very adversely affected by injuries. Our club these days however seems to be far too timid to complain to the NRL when it has every right to do so.

I'm trying to remember if Jarred Farlow is any good.

Is he worth a call up?

Very small but very good.

He should be our 9 everytime Farah is out instead of Luani and Halatau.

Long time reader, first time poster. Watched this game today, Very unfortunate game. The Backs were out classed and Rowe was just Meh. Forwards were good, props to Fiagatusa, Inno and Santi - Solid D and good hit ups.. Brownie also had some good strong runs. Great try assist by Fiagatusa to put some points on the table in the dying seconds. Lovett is out of place big time, where fine? Need Moses, Sita and Hitchcox back to compete / Win this comp.

It's funny how Rowe has not been able to kick on with his NYC form in either NRL or NSW cup

Fine is out with a hamstring strain, possibly due back next week.
I thought the 3 guys mentioned above along with Gavet were the standouts with and without the ball. Our backs were terrible in defence and offered nothing in attack!! Bad reads and simple missed tackles along with the WORST REFEREE in Ashley Klein penalizing us every set didn't help. Our halves didn't didn't ask questions of the defence and simply handed over possesion with ease. And then there is Rowe,
wow i can't believe this kid went up to 1st grade and came back with no improvements to his game, dropped a bomb, slow to cover in defence, cannot stop tries and runs like he has the handbrake on when he gets to the defensive line!! Give me Jy anyday of the week.

What NYC form? Sure he scored a few tries but he wasnt dominant in NYC. Nowhere near Teddy at that level.
