NSW Cup Team Announcement: Round 7 vs. Cutters

Dan Talintyre
Tue 14th April, 04:40PM

Wests Tigers NSW Cup Coach Paul Fletcher has named his side to take on the Illawarra Cutters in their Round 7 clash on Saturday, April 18.

Kickoff for the match is scheduled for 10:45am at Campbelltown Sports Stadium.

After a tough 26-18 loss to the New Zealand Warriors in their last match, Fletcher has been forced into making several changes to this week’s side following the absence of Chance Peni, who will have surgery tonight on a serious jaw injury suffered in the match.

Tim Moltzen will move into the centres this week to cover for Peni, with Penani Manumalealii coming into the side for his first game at five-eighth.

Manaia Cherrington will also get his first start in the No.9 jersey after an impressive performance in his first game back from a foot injury against the Warriors last week.

Finally Cherrington gets to start at 9.
Too bad it's because somehow Luani managed to make the extended bench for First Grade…

Has Akauola done something wrong to be named 18th? He was one of our best early on wasn't he?
Nice to see Lodge back a week or two early too. Kudos S&C

Interested to know how Bullock goes? Anyone? Would he be a better bet than Buchanan on the bench?
He looks like has good size.

Buchanan is bigger than Bullock, and I don't think Bullock is a better option.

Has Moltzen been moved due to peni's injury, or has he not performed in the halves?

Pushing for a first grade spot.

He has a way to go yet.

Well that is the reason he has moved, right out of his mouth.

Really?
This is a quote from the team announcement.

Tim Moltzen will move into the centres this week to cover for Peni, with Penani Manumalealii coming into the side for his first game at five-eighth.

To be exact it is what he intended,
"Everyone is playing to well for me to play firsts in the halves, might be another position"

What Peni's injured and what's coming out of Moltz's mouth?

It's starting to look like a pretty solid team…

Interesting that Moltz has moved to centre to apparently fill in for Peni, yet Fine is moved to second row and Sita 18th man.

Good to see Lodge back. Wonder how long it will take to push his way back in to the side.

I expect quickly. He is a very good player.
