NSW Cup Team List: Round 12

Is O'Kane a dark horse for a second row option, mid next year ?

Good pedigree.
Is O'Kane the bloke dating Arthur Laundy's grandaughter?

If so, and he can convince Laundy to ditch the Dogs and start throwing his $500k+ a year at the Tigers then it may be worth playing him in the 17 each week.

The Knights do it with Lachlan Fitzgibbon. He's only selected each week coz his old man is CEO of NIB who are the major sponsor and uncle Joel was Member for the Hunter for years and opened doors for government spending on stadium

I feel like it ultimately depends on signings. If we sign a player in the Doorey mould then he's definitely a chance. If the unthinkable happens and we land Crichton, I'd say he'll be biding his time a little while longer. iPaps will have one spot locked down, but there may well be a massive battle for the left edge between a number of our youngsters.

Blore, Tumeth, O'Kane, Kautoga, even Fainu.

Love the numbers that become gospel around here....
If Laundy is paying 500k for the main sponsorship in the NRL
- It's the cheapest price in the last 10-15 years.

Some real talent in that list...

Love to see OKeezy and K.O'Toga become stars.

Whilst the Cup team has definitely underperformed, it's worth noting that most of the players we have in the side are inexperienced and have basically missed out on the last 2 seasons due to Covid. Some of the sides that have flogged us this year have had some hard-nosed Cup and even NRL players that are much older.

Last year we were winning most games in Cup so not as much need to bring in younger ones. Clearly, we are paying for it now.

Loathe to criticise the club but there was a lack of vision particularly last year when we had a strong Flegg side and yet very few got the chance to play up. The Cup side went well but then how many have come through to WTs NRL since? Whilst it was good to see both sides do well, we missed a trick and now we are scrambling with young players in KOE with a few that could still play Flegg but they are regularly getting a good pasting.

At least they're getting a chance now I suppose (except those that have been injured). Nothing wrong with enduring some hard times but this is dependent on attitude to each game and learning from mistakes & of course, patience from the supporters.

Shame no stream of this game, with a longer list than usual, of first grade players playing and promising juniors that people in the know have been talking about.

There is a lot of quality in that team. It is good to know they are being exposed to the NSW Cup even though are results aren't great. They will be learning a lot.

Nswrl are lazy as hell, they don’t even have live scorers for their streams like QRL.

QRL invest more into their streaming than NSW, that’s why there’s no tackle count etc on nswrl

I do this line of work on weekends
