A solid team, particularly the pack, backs are solid but no one who can really solve our issues in first grade. Probably teh slowest backline in nsw cup - and the slowest backline in NRL. Surely Cooper will be gone soon.

They must be guns if they are flogging everyone with plodders.

Penrith have been flogging everyone. We haven't. We're been scoring a lot of points, but conceding almost as many. None of the other top sides have even come close to conceding over 100 points yet.

Expectations of this squad need to be a bit more measured. A bunch of experienced average NRL players and some average NSW cup players, held together by some great performances from their spine doesn't mean they're a team of guns. The likes of Cooper, Freebairn, ZDC are all just plugging gaps until our gun juniors are ready to make the step up.

Lui and Ogden were first up last week, and unfortunately Ogden got injured. I think Scolari won't be too far away from pushing Cooper out. If we decide not to extend Joey we could stop playing him and promote young Fautimau up. Dillon won't be too far away either from seeing how we measures up against hte big boys. And of course Gebbie.

I agree @balmain-boy. Our KOE side is going well but we will get shown up with the better sides if we persist with makeshift senior players clogging up the development of our young players. We lack foresight and waste opportunity on the basis “we must be going well anyway” because we are winning. As they say in business once you’ve think you’ve made it, the chances of flatlining increase.

A player like Scolari played the last game of 2019 in NSW Cup against the Warriors and by all accounts had a very impressive debut in attack and defence but it seems Covid may have affected his, Dillon, Mavoni, Felix Smith’s chance to start in NSW Cup this year. Cini seems to be taking his chance well.

With our wingers for example, we will have Gebbie and Fitzgibbon playing KOE so we will have depth but they need to play so we can see if they can develop into first grade so why do we stuff around with older, slower players when there are small openings for getting our youth some experience in the meantime?

Check out 0:17s on this NSWRL clip with Scolari’s break and also the tries Jordan Hill score (sadly injured but he will be back next year) and whilst Melbourne were poor, it highlights the talent that we need to develop and bring through in this Jersey Flegg side sooner rather than later. God, not even Rizk can get a run at the moment in Flegg - surely his and others chances will come later in the season?

Jordan Hill looks a decent sized winger.

Too quick, better off on the wing.

Look at the photos of the young player we've signed from Redcliffe at 190cm and 90kg. He's a winger and apparently very quick originally from East New Britain.

Dockar-Clay to 6, Walters bench. BJ and Mikaele both playing. Taipari 18th man.

Plenty of strike in today's team.

Freebairn held up early on as the Magpies get 6 more on Blacktown's line

Mikaele confirmed that Madge wants more out of him in attack and defence and for more general involvement.
