Western Suburbs Magpies Knock-On Effect NSW Cup coach Ben Gardiner has named his line-up for their Round 8 clash against St George Illawarra Dragons at WIN Stadium.

NRL squad member Tuki Simpkins returns from a two-game suspension and will start at lock for the game, while Michael Chee Kam comes back into the team after spending last week in the NRL team.


Shawn Blore has been named to start as he plays his second game of the year after returning from a wrist injury last Sunday.

Tom Freebairn gets his chance to start in the front row, while playmaker Zach Dockar-Clay has been named as the bench utility.

Why are we playing Chee-Kam at centre? It would be better to give the younger centres a go instead imo.

Perhaps it's an omen... They're familiarising him to the position so that he's better qualified ti play there in 1st's.

Agreed. To me it looks like they follow a similar plan to our FG side, only they execute it better. Maybe it appears that way due to the lower quality opposition, not sure. Kind of embarrassing when your ressies can execute a game plan better than your firsts...Well, I guess it means that once these guys get to the top level they will already know what to do, and can hit the ground running.

Cowardice, Cini is a star in the making. How on earth he cannot crack a run in this Tigers team is beyond me.. is Madge looking to get sacked because he certainly doesn’t seem to be making any decisions that may improve the team and his sticking with Mbye and Brooks after no success and zero line breaks, try assists or tackle busts is the definition of insanity..... Cini beats more defenders every time he gets the ball then Mbye has beaten since he joined the club!

There's quite a difference between State Cup and FG.

Couldn’t be any worse than Talau at this stage surely. The guy is naturally a centre but is killing it at fullback. Very versatile which is a sign of a good player

The quality of the reserve grade comp seems really poor also. It’s basically Penrith and us then daylight

When we played Knights earlier in the year and Manly on the weekend, they were 2 of the worst footy sides I’ve ever seen play football
