NSW Eligibility - Farah?

@Flippedy said:
I think Farah deserves a hell of a lot more respect from us supporters. He has practically held this team together for many years, giving his very best when many of his teammates couldn't be bothered and now when he's been called to take a back seat so the young guys can take control of the team and begin to shine, he gets roundly criticised by fickle fans. Not to mention all the unsubstantiated crap that was said about him last year in the Potter fiasco. Seriously the guy cannot win!

He could've left this team years ago and got bigger coin somewhere else, but he has stuck with WT because he loves this club and all he gets for his loyalty is sh!t from the fans. The bloody NSW selectors and coaches have more respect for Farah than his own club supporters and that's really sad.

Great post, sums up my thoughts since that Potter fiasco.

Farah still has it.

I'm also keen on the Cherrington on the bench idea, though I don't know what that'll mean for Halatau who has been very good. But if a bench spot for Cherrington means he'll stick around then we have to do it. He's a talent.

When JT drops Farah to State Cup, is Farah still eligible to play SOO?

I think he is still ok to play.

Yeah - we drop the bloke who captained NSW two weeks ago and replace him with a kid who has played half a game in first grade. :crazy
Cherrington, no doubt, has a great future - his time will come.

Didn't Jennings go to SOO from state cup at penrith?

He did too, a good point. There is a precedent so Farah will be relieved.

I can see him wiping the sweat from his brow right now. :unamused: :laughing:

Great post Flip. Right on the money. I predicted when Marshal went Farah would be the next target for abuse…These 2 blokes are the reason Wests Tigers still exist. Without them this merger likely fails. Show some respect.

You don't even need to be a footballer to be eligible for NSW… Just a degree in being a Sooky La La makes you a definite selection!

You are correct. Sure he has faults every player does but he puts everything into WT on the field i wouldnt swap him for any other no 9 at any other club including the aussie captain.

And Jennings wasn't the first, you don't need to be playing first grade to get picked for a rep side, although the days of Mick Cronin getting picked for NSW and Australia while playing in Gerringong as an amateur are behind us. It's all about whose junior system you came up through, nothing to do with where you're born or where you currently play your club football. Remember when Alfie Langer retired, went to England then came back to win an origin series in 2001?
