Bloody hell. They really hate c town don’t they that’s a real shame.
Yeah I'm trying to get my head around this decision, seems to me that Wests Magpies have just abandoned Campbelltown. Considering West Ashfield funds both Wests Magpies and Wests Tigers leave me considering the implications for the Wests Tigers.
When you get 35 people and a dog to a Canturbury Cup game there is not much to abandon..
As stated in the article dependant on Scheduling ..Canterbury Cup will be played at Campbelltown prior to NRL games..
Junior Football will be played out of Campbelltown
I guess that is a point, but with a lot of Magpies games on TV the last few years I would have thought that would be part of maintaining the connection in supporters minds.
@geo did you see this decision coming mate?
Yes..
Has the decision come from Wests Magpies football club, Wests Ashfield or Wests Tigers?
Western Suburbs District Rugby League Football Club (WSDRLFC)
Thanks mate, that makes a bit more sense to me. I knew you would have the info on this.
So I am guessing this is about trying to increase people attending games through the nostalgia link, if they go down the Newton Henson Park angle it could work really well for them in increasing their revenue.
To me I saw the Magpies playing in Campbelltown as an important aspect of our move to a centralised stadium.
