NYC Round 9 Team Announcement

Wests Tigers’ NYC team will look to bounce back from two tough defeats when they take on Sydney Roosters in their Round 9 clash at Allianz Stadium on Friday.

A two-game suspension to Mitchell Moses has seen NYC Head Coach Andrew Webster make several changes to last week’s team, with Eli Levido coming in off the bench to replace the representative halfback in the middle alongside Te Maire Martin.

Manaia Cherrington has again been named to play NSW Cup — opening the door for Peter Nay to start in the No. 9 jersey this weekend.

Nathan Milone returns to the team following his successful NSW Cup debut on the weekend, and will captain the team on Friday night.

Kick-off is scheduled for 5:20pm AEST on Friday, May 9.

Check out the confirmed team for this weekend below.

This side looks a little weak to me.

The 3/4's seem to be lacking penetration.

Id be much more comfortable with Farrall and Satterwaite in the side. That said i dont see whta these guys dish up each week at training, maybe these guys have earnt the spot.

Dont know much about Jordan Grant, anyone got any info on him.

Jordan Grant was with the EELS, he got stuck behind some rather big unities there and asked for a release when approached by Webster. Is a good size kid hits hard in defence and runs hard too. His older brother played for the tigers 3-4 years ago.

There are a few guys who deserve an opportunity, Jeremy Marshall-King, Rhyce McLaren are a couple but they obviously aren't as good as some of the kids who are currently playing in the Coaches/Selectors eyes, which seem to be shut when evaluating the current crop of players!!

5 minutes to go, we lead 22-14 and have come up with a lot of defence tonight from the twitter reports.

The boys hung on to record a very well deserved 22-18 win despite being on the wrong side of the possession ledger. Also lost Alofi at halftime to a knee injury. We may have dropped a couple of games recently, but when the team turns up to play, they can certainly beat some fancied teams.

Great effort tonight .defence was sensational against a much bigger team , lost 2 players with serious injuries before half time and also got smashed with penalties.
Hopefully this kick starts. Their season
