NYC Team Announcement: Round 15 vs. Manly-Warringah Sea Eagles

Tue 16th June, 04:55PM
A A
Wests Tigers NYC Head Coach Brett Kimmorley has named his side to take on the Manly-Warringah Sea Eagles in their Round 15 clash on Friday, June 19.

Kickoff for the match is scheduled for 7:45pm at Brookvale Oval, Manly.

Having posted back-to-back wins following a six-point victory over the South Sydney Rabbitohs last week, Brett Kimmorley’s side will look to consolidate their spot inside the top eight against a strong Sea Eagles side that started the year as one of the best.

The home side sit on level points with Wests Tigers heading into Friday night’s clash, but without a win in their last seven matches following five consecutive victories to start the year — a streak they’ll be no doubt desperate to end at home this week.

See what Kimmorley had to say about this week’s team and opponents in the video above.

Decent looking lineup. Pity Kharwin hasn't forced his way back in though.

good to see Funaki get a run with kids his own age… Enjoy!

it seems like the club is trying to convert him into a front rower, he is a good backrower and can become a great one as he runs great lines.

Team doesnt look too bad with Kimmorley sticking with much the same side as last week, would have been nice to see Khawin back on the wing Great to see Cerruto getting another run this week but why Kimmorley doesn't play him at fullback is beyond me my opinion hes played out of position & should replace Marshall as the preferred fullback. Strong in the middle with Heleta Seve & Martin all named in the side not sure why McCormack comes off the bench again this week but hopefully he is given the opportunity to play at his defensive best. Goodluck to you all

Very odd to put Funaki back to NYC at prop. A repercussion of Farlow's return no doubt. Simply not enough space. I'd have dropped Liolevave before Funaki though.

And the club needs to start treating Kharwin with a bit more respect. Best wing prospect at the club. If he's going to play NSW Cup, name him! if he's playing NYC, name him. None of this invisible man crap.

Why a fullback on the bench? Marshall under injury cloud one would guess?

heard a story today about Kharwin, his brother plays for wentworthville and he, was in a incident with the coach in the car park and thats why he was dropped.

Kimmorley doing an astounding job as usual.

But still players need to have respect and control, no matter how baffling the coaches decisions are. Needs a senior player to mentor him a bit. Even someone like Lodge who's had troubles in the past could help him knuckle down.

Friday night's Holden Cup under-20s match between the Manly Sea Eagles and Wests Tigers scheduled to be played at 5.30pm at Brookvale Oval has been transferred due to heavy rainfall.

On Friday morning the Manly Warringah Sea Eagles, Wests Tigers, NRL and Warringah Council agreed to relocate the match to ensure that the playing surface is preserved for the NRL match kicking off at 7.45pm. This follows four days of rainfall and over 77mm in the past 24 hours.

The schedule of matches for this weekend is now as follows:

NRL: Manly Warringah Sea Eagles v Wests Tigers
Friday 19th June, Brookvale Oval
Gates open: 5.15pm
Kick-off: 7.45pm

NSW Cup: Manly Warringah Sea Eagles v Wyong Roos
Saturday 20 June, Campbelltown Stadium
Kick-off: 2.00pm

Holden Cup: Manly Warringah Sea Eagles v Wests Tigers
Saturday 20 June, Campbelltown Stadium
Kick-off: 12.00pm

According to the NRL website this Holden Cup match is to be played mid-day tomorrow (Saturday) at Campbelltown stadium. Maybe it is to preserve the Brookvale pitch which would be have been badly affected by the recent rain in Sydney. The TAB has also suspended betting on this match.

18'— TRY TIME! No-look flick pass from @bayleysironen as he's being taken over the sideline and Heleta is there to score!

19'— Spectacular ball from Sironen to keep the play alive and Heleta finishes it off. Mapesone converts and it's 6-6 now!

24'— BOOOM! Prop Demetriou singles out Seve, who lines him up and sends him flying as he drops the ball! Shot from the centre! 24'— BOOOM! Prop Demetriou singles out Seve, who lines him up and sends him flying as he drops the ball! Shot from the centre!

26'— SHOT! Seve again! This time lines up Cox as the @SeaEagles work it from their end! Still locked at 6-6 in this one.
