NYC Team List - Rd. 7 v Parramatta

This is pathetic defense for a rep level team. Lots of shirt grabbing, how'd they get selected?

Beats me, they can't get the basics right half the time. I'm just disappointed at our lack of size.

We should sign him up at the Tigs

I have seen worse suggestions than that one i would think he would be on the hit list for a few clubs

Only u20s but with the right developement could be a Tuaki reborn. He's huge

He is certainly the sort of player Cleary should be looking at to rebuild our talent pool which is probably at an all time low

Very ordinary football team sadly. Boys tried their best but just can't compete at this calibre. Given our relative success at this level for an extended period, at some stage it was likely that we would have a year where we just wouldnt have the players.

Ray Stone was a big loss.

Is Daniel Roberts injured? The halves out there were very lucky to make this grade.

I referred to this lot as midgets after watching them get monstered by the Storm at Leichardt. The pounding they are copping against Parra is not a surprise.I have to agree with other posters- who selected such a small team? How could there be so little knowledge about what is required in Holden Cup to have allowed that to happen? What is the background of the the coach? This team is plain and simple too small.

This is where Cleary needs to start the clean out , this is rubbish Football , can't see any player going forward from this lot , yes first time this year I got to see a full game and we are poor all across the field

What a disgrace!

Who is the coach of this side? No size, no pace, no defence (God it was terrible) and no talent The worst team I have seen for years.

Number 3 and 9 were ok.

It was like watching under 14's playing the big boys. Will not be watching again.

I've seen a lot of NYC over the years and this is certainly the worst NYC side we've ever had in the history of the comp. Way too small all over the field. No experience in the squad at all, other than Giles and Matafa. The halves are ridiculously poor. The side was so poorly organised all match, with half the team standing around with no idea what to do from the play the ball.

The 5/8 was tiny but had a decent pass on him. Most of the forwards were pathetic. Mikaele did nothing at all. Our pack were getting monstered and pushed back all game.

I'd like to see Lemuelu pushed into 5/8 or fullback for the rest of the season. That's his natural position and he's wasted at centre. Doesn't get anywhere near enough ball. He did get a try and 1 and possibly 2 try assists from memory. He's a big boy, can tackle and has a pass and kick on him. The team is drowning and it won't do his development anygood keeping him out wide when he doesn't get the ball. I thought he was being trained in the outside backs to help his push for first grade but we might be needing a 5/8 soon in any case. The kid deserves his shot.

The recruitment for this team was woeful. Although if you add Paseka and Suli they would have a bit more balance. Don't think the coach would have had much say in it though. He was the Balmain SG Ball coach from last year if memory serves me correct.

I certainly won't be wasting my time watching much of these boys this season. Simply not worth the hassle when our boys are just getting smashed on a weekly basis. Lemuelu alone as a serious prospect though i think they should call up Jai Doolan and a few of the other SG Ball players asap. They can't be any worse than the current mob.

First time I had seen our NYC side play

Our forwards are small in comparison to other sides , no wonder we are getting flogged most weeks

Mikaele does go missing (anyone remember last years U18 SOO game), but he still led the side in metres gained.

In regards to recruitment, the talent isn't coming through that well in Balmain/Western Suburbs so maybe more could be done to target specific players outside those catchment zones. I hope some selectors were watching the NSW U16/U18 championships.
