NYC Top 17 for 2014

Scorcher

I know it's a bit early but we should have a very strong squad, here's my top 17/18 from players I have seen play, I believe there will be a few kids from the Country to add but would like to see how they go first.

1\. Mason Farrell
2\. Delouise Hoeter
3\. Nathan Milone
4\. Marion Seve
5\. Watson Heleta/Leva Li
6\. Temaire Martin
7\. Mitchell Moses
8\. Dallas Graham
9\. Mania Cherrington
10\. Jake Dooner
11\. Salesi Funaki
12\. Daniel Rakvin
13\. Faseo Tatola
14\. Francis Fafita
15\. Lamar manuel-Liolevave
16\. Hala Masila
17\. Richard Ene.

I reckon you will be on the money with 75% of them looking at that list Scorcher. I'd like to see us get a bit more size in the front row as it is something we've lacked since the Woods/Fifita combo a few years ago.

here's my top 17

1\. Mason Farrell
2\. Delouise Hoeter
3\. Tom Satterthwaite
4\. Marion Seve
5\. Paul Simona
6\. Temaire Martin
7\. Mitchell Moses
8\. Dallas Graham
9\. Mania Cherrington
10\. Richard Ene
11\. Salesi Funaki
12\. Lamar Liolevave
13\. Faseo Tatola
14\. Dwayne Lemafa
15\. Daniel Rakvin
16\. Hala Masila
17.Paula Fangaloka

I don't know most of the players but I'd guess hoeter would be a good chance at the 1\. Excited to see the two centers from Keebra in action.

Totally unrelated but it didn't need it's own thread but how is NYC player of the year Blake Cartwright related to John Cartwright, is he his nephew or his son does anyone know?

I don't get the love for Dooner at prop.

Very ordinary and small for a starting prop

FTB Bryce Cartwright is his nephew.

Some future FG stars in the making in that Panthers 20's side

Thanks mate  Didn't think he was his son because he really doesn't look like him. If Warriors didn't knock-on from the scrum win against the feed they may well have mown Penrith down…never a good sign when you are celebrating a victory with 30 something minutes to go. Shame that our WT NYC team was ruined by injury in the finals, we were more than good enough to win back-to-back premierships.

No. 10 from warriors ran hard straight and defended strong
No. 15 from warriors was the best defender. Hits hard and doesn't miss.
No.14 from warriors was a menace. Future kiwi hooker no doubt

Never got it either, he is deadset ordinary, I'm guessing he's one of these guys that just really puts in at training that coaches love….cause payten wrapped him quiet a bit during the year.

On another note smeg do you know if jarred szczuldo is still here next year?

Bryce is Dave Cartwright's young fellow.
Terrific player and the next generation of a bit of a dynasty forming.

Agree with that. We need to shift away from props who weigh less than 100kg and go with some grunt for a change. Hoping Ene has a big offseason.

Jarred I do not know. Don't think he is NYC eligible. Might be a good pickup on second tier

Have we got any big boys coming to the club. Graham,Ene and Fangaloka are the only big boys from this year squad to play next year. ( fangaloka ?? )

James Taylor (10) is an absolute BEAST, the Warriors were a totally different side when both their starting props where off the field. Kata (17) Also looked the goods when he came on after their centre got injured.

Woods will be there, as will the majority of the Keebra park backline. Satterthwaite will also prob be there, with the wheelhouse boys a chance too. a lot of quality depth.

Its a shame JJ Felis is still at school otherwise he'd be the first forward picked. Awesome prop. If he went to Holy Cross or any school in Sydney he'd play every game. May still yet get occasionally flown down, but it is important for him to finish his studies.

the whole club needs to change there ideas about picking players, since sheens took over we have gone for small fast forwards over the last 8-10 years as thats what sheens wanted. now hes gone i would like to see starting in the 20s, that we start getting some big frontrowers and some tall large framed backrowers, then we can do it in NSW cup and 1ST grade.we would have to be the smallest in all grades in not only the frowards but also the backs as well. untill the club starts getting some size into the 3 grades the club cannot compete with the better clubs.

I reckon Jeremy Marshall-King will be the halfback and Moses the 6\. Hoeter will be the fullback. Seve will almost surely be one centre. Dunno about the rest. Is Sa Fafita finally going to play?
