Off-Contract Players - Who should we approach?

Not too sure WHO exactly or if names have been dropped.
George Rose has been in touch with the club but Potter isn't interested.

You won't see him @ the tigers.
MY GUESS: Penrith, Titans or Knights.

Pritchard/Eastwood would be great, imagine 'em both coming…
If I had to pick ONE though it'd be BEASTWOOD

Penrith have already got enough size. He'd be more likely to end up under Bennett and finding a new lease on his career there.

Eastwood would be a good pickup, but Pritchard is nothing more than a flat track bully. The only great games I ever him having were against us.

A big NO to Pritchard! Eastwood would be ok, but still not a prop. Would rather Rose, tbh.

Rose isn't famous for his playing ability, he's infamous for his massive gut. Pass.

I would like to see the tigers make a play for Bryan Norrie or Roy Asotasi for the 2014 season as the are quality players who are playing well at the moment. Either would provide us with experience and i think they would be a good buy on a two season contract allowing time for forwards like Ava, Gavet and Buchannan to develop. Trent Hodkinson is off contract too. IMO he was unlucky with injury last year and i believe he could be a very handy player for us if signed. We would also have a traditional halfback for once, something that we have lacked since Prince's departure. We should try and recruit a bakrow forward or two that can provide us with some impact. i think we really need a winger as well. I know Ash Graham is off contract who is a good ball runner and finisher. He knows how to score and seems pretty safe too. If not Mitch Brown is off contract and i think he is another handy player who can also cover fullback and centre.

**Norrie/Asotasi:** Both will be 30 or over next year. Norrie is a run of the mill prop, nothing special. Asotasi is highly overrated and injury prone.

**Hodkinson:** I don't mind him and I think he's the type of halfback that would suit us well. However I don't think he's any better than Miller so I wouldn't bother.

**Graham:** He had a good season last year but would want to see him back it up again this year for him to be considered. Will be turning 30 next year as well so is probably going to hit the downhill sooner rather than later as a wing.

**Brown:** Would love to have him back. He'd be playing instead of Reddy if he were still with us.

I wish we kept Brown and didn't sign Reddy but ah well, not much you can do now and IMO not worth signing Brown again, start looking to the younger players we have coming through. Reddy is off-contract this year I believe? Either extend if needed otherwise if Nofo/Big T playing well then let him look around.

Could play Eastwood at lock, use Blair as a prop.

Yeah maybe, kh, but I think Blair is more of a back rower these days. I just don't think he would be as effective at making the metres as someone like Rose would. That said, I definitely wouldn't be unhappy if WT signed Eastwood - he is a tough, no-nonsense player who hits the line at great speed and we could certainly do with that type of player in our back row as well.

Adian Tolmans price just dropped for next year (Parra are not chasing him for those that don't read the paper)

I dunno about tolman….i'm a lot more wary about buying forwards after all the duds we and others have bought. T-rex, blair, luke lewis etc. etc.

Wouldn't mind eastwood as long as we aren't overpaying him.

We can't go much worse in the forward department than we currently are. The only two no-risk props out there are Tamou and Scott, and unfortunately, they're both unavailable. Tolman wont come with the stigma and hype the others have - he just does his job and does it well.

also Tolman is a real work horse and plays a lot of minutes each game so i would definitely go for him along with Eastwood those two would give us some more size in our forward pack and help us up the middle and making a dent in the oppositions defensive lines

Eastwood with give our back row more punch and would be my key signing for next year. I would mix him with an experienced prop for a year perhaps Asotasi . Tool an isn't going to sign at the tigers to play off the bench behind Galloway and woods plus he really doesn't bring much

If we don't make the 8 and taking in consideration we have an inexperienced coach at NRL level we will have to pay overs for most big name credentialled forwards
