OFFICIAL: Ben Matulino to join Wests Tigers

My mail is pretty poor as you are all probably aware by now.

From what I am hearing Matulino, Whare and Lewis Brown are on the radar for the Tigers.
Out of the 4 WT want to keep all of them however, Woods and Teddy are likely to leave to the Bulldogs however, they have no interest in our halves as they are after Foran and Johnson.
Teddy is the Bulldogs main target however, If he stays they will go after Dugan. Dogs are seeking to release Reynolds, Graham, Hoppa and others so they will have cap space to make moves.

From what I can see with Woods demeanour as Captain he is leaving and from what he is asking 850 per season WT may not want him at that price.

We need to lock down Teddy and Moses and pay overs and move on with Cleary.

Lewis Brown will just be another Halatau/Lawrence. We don't need him!!!

Whare and Mutalino would be great. Dogs need to stay away.

Please not Lewis Brown. However Graham for Woods might not be too bad a move.

I dont think that info is too far wrong, Im hearing similar, though from what I understand we have Tedesco covered and the Bulldogs talk is just an exercise in contract inflation.

C'mon, it's one thing to offer some mail and commendably preface that it's potentially quite poor.

If we could get him and Evans and have a prop rotation of Woods/Ava/Mats/Evans, it would be pretty sweet. Throw in McQueen our pack all of a sudden looks awesome. Fingers crossed Evans stays out of the Roosters side because that will bring his asking price down. Add an outside back like Whare and we are good to go.

Id keep Sue in the front row and run evans in the backrow,we would have some real punch out wide and up the guts but however u run it that pack def has some oomph!

I think they'll be looking for an 80 minute 2nd rower.

The report from 7 NEWS( theres a link in this thread) said that Ballin ,and the other players that Jt brought into the club were upset that the other players didnt support Taylor as they thought they should have.
According to the report, Ballin gave the rest of the players a spray about it,
Coming from a player who has only had a passing connection with the club , and has less than 2 games under his belt its a bit of a joke.
Maybe Edwards,Grant,Et,and Ballin , may be worried that now theyll have to produce something to get a game after Cleary arrives.
Athough, I dont think Et wouldve been too unhappy to see that Cleary is coming , especially as he is pretty much the only member of the 4 that earns his money week after week

Its not a joke at all, and if true its disappointing to hear though not at all surprising. It just backs up the concerns that there is a heirachy problem in the mentality of our playing roster.

Lichaa , Reynolds & Hoppa are off contract , don't need releasing .

No way Dogs can fit woods , Teddy , Foran & Johnson into their cap by not re-signing the above first graders who are the only 3 they have off contract

Hoppa is on circa $200k as per most reports, so that doesn't free up much cash for them.
They'll need to shift a fair few contracted players if they want a big overhaul.

I've heard a couple players weren't happy with JT''s treatment. And not the Ballin's and Rankin's who most would assume. If true, fair enough that they aren't happy, but if they were to leave over it it would be ridiculous. Fair enough they might have been close to JT, but going off the games against the Panthers and Raiders its clear we hadn't improved from the last time we played those teams. Same goes if any player decides to leave based on the club not wanting to re-sign one of their mates. Its obvious that at least one of our halves aren't worth a lick, so if the club lets one of them go, the others need to get on with it.

Ballin is highly regarded throughout the league as a consumate professional, and even though injury plagued since being with us, I would put alot more weight to his opinions than to those who have come through our system. He understands success and what it takes, the muppets he addressed couldnt say the same.

Woods for matulino, that's a fair swap. Doubt woods would want to go to NZ though… Perhaps we could end up with both of them

Matulino for Woods is a fair swap?! An Origin prop who is in the top 3 or 4 props in the world as opposed to a bloke who has trouble getting a game with the Warriors (who are going worse than WT are) and is injury prone. Matulino is half the player Woods is.

I think that he should worry about putting in some good games, or any type of game for that matter, and showing some value ,rather than telling others what they should be thinking,
JT had his chance, and maybe some players might think that Ballins got a free ride so far.
