OFFICIAL Wests Tigers Team v Souths

Really hope he’s not playing ducks and drakes with his selections. We all know what happened last weekend. He’s lost me the coach but glad to see Simpkin in at 9. There was something off with Liddle as much as I was hoping he’d nail the position down m.

So here’s the thing-
Now take these 17 players and go train with some intent. Maybe some support play, maybe some second phase, maybe some quick ball, maybe playing an upbeat attacking style, maybe moving up in defence, maybe moving up in defence quickly, maybe counting numbers, maybe defusing kicks.
I swear after last week I don’t know how they fill a weekly training schedule

Was Kepoa a winger before he came to WT or were we trying to manufacture him into one?

He's played most of his career at centre and fullback. Don't think he'd played much wing, if any until he came to us.

"Asu “AJ” Kepaoa will also return to the side after a strong performance in the Knock-On Effect NSW Cup competition" - Can someone please tell me how true, or untrue this statement is.

I thought he was rubbish. Incredibly slow. Did score a try though.

Think there's just no other options at the moment.

The make up of the final 17 will be interesting

I think bulking up has caused Liddle to lose his speed and ability to pass.

Wests Tigers Coach Michael Maguire has made several changes to his side ahead of Saturday’s Round 6 game against the South Sydney Rabbitohs at Stadium Australia.

Highly-rated young hooker Jake Simpkin has been named to start and make his NRL debut — becoming Wests Tigers Player #242 — with Jacob Liddle dropping back to the reserves.

Asu “AJ” Kepaoa will also return to the side after a strong performance in the Knock-On Effect NSW Cup competition, replacing Joey Leilua who is ruled out following a concussion sustained against the Cowboys.

Young forward Stefano Utoikamanu has earned the first start of his career following a strong start to the season and moves into the run-on side in place of Zane Musgrove. Joe Ofahengaue also retains his starting spot on the right edge with Luke Garner set to come off the bench after a good performance last week.

New Wests Tigers recruit Tom Amone, who only joined the club last month, has been included on the reserves list after strong performances for the club’s Knock-On Effect NSW Cup side, Western Suburbs Magpies.

Saturday will see a triple-header of rugby league action at Stadium Australia with the club’s reserve-grade (12:40pm) and Jersey Flegg (3:00pm) sides both featuring prior to the NRL kickoff at 5:30pm AEST.

18 Jacob Liddle
19 Alex Seyfarth
20 Tom Amone
21 Michael Chee Kam

Looks like Madge and Tamou have made up, if in fact there was anything in it?

Congratulations to Jake very much deserved, but talk about a baptism of fire for the poor kid. Cannot understand why he hasn't been used off the bench yet.

This is probably the team I would have gone for. It is obvious to see that we are short on second rowers untill Blore comes back.

He made 57 tackles. I think it was another case of Toddy outwitting us.

Focus on the positive- Simpkin in! Just really sucks it's against one of the heavyweights, don't go expecting miracles.

Pretty sure AJ is a centre, he's definitely not a winger. Anywho, I do feel Mbye may take his spot with Liddle coming onto the bench.

AJ and Talou defending next to each other could be a nightmare, certainly makes Nofa/Roberts edge look better.

I can see the logic it’s to throw total confusion into the rabbits backline . They’ll get that excited they won’t know what side to hit.

Gerard (six again against the wests tigers Sutton) it's hard enough to get a fair go at the best of times but this guy loathes the tigers

I like this team and hope Jake and AJ realise the opportunity that’s in front of them. I want to see a level of effort and desire to be 10 year NRL players. Sticking with Brooksy and Noff was bold but I’d imagine they’ll both know they’re on borrowed time.

I reckon it's just because Maguire doesn't think Garner can keep up his work for 80 minutes. Looked much better over 52 IMHO.

I have come out of the the shadows for the first time to ask this question; How the hell did Flippers make the run-on side, did someone find his hands???

we don't pass to centres so his flippers won't matter

You are not wrong, he hates us as much as he loves souths, what are the odds of us getting a fair go

Think I was garners biggest critic on here last week, if he has that impact from the bench keep him there.
