TEAM LIST Official Wests Tigers team vs Canberra

Team List
Glad its the last one, our season has been bad- very average roster, what good players we had were out extended times with injuries & recovery / suspension, leaving the leftovers to make do. Basically most of the squad were shown to have little discipline, skills non- existent or gone backwards, poor coaching with little strategy and unfathomable usage of bench spots and time, terrible awareness and ability in the basics and a pretty consistent lack of leadership, football nous and hunger / desire.

Edit- but we still cold beat the Raiders. Not expected, but hopefully.

Next season can surely only get better - or at least I hope so. First thing clean out squad, get Sheens and Marshall in there and hopefully Sheens has been doing the phone rounds with player managers and we are getting some better replacements than those leaving.

The reasons for Wests Tigers worst season ever
1. Very poor roster
2. Lot of injuries and jackos 4 game suspension didn't help
3. Minimal recruitment during season
4. Lack of depth in that our main source to cover those out in 1st grade is our cup side who were also hopeless
5. Coaching - i put this down the list as whoever coached couldn't do much with what they had to work with
6. Internal friction .-when so many reference a toxic environment there must be some truth to it

This last point has made recruitment very difficult
I read comment from Mick Potter who said
"When I came to the Tigers it was unlike any club I had seen before it was a political hotbed"
That's a quote verbatum and I think the core of the issues
Meanwhile while all this going on our CEO put all his bets on the COE to fix everything
So next Monday the 3 wise men take over and hope they create a whole new atmosphere a happy harmonious non toxic environment
How much has the tug of war between the 2 main factions on the board over the years contributed to this ? I'm not privy to any inside information so I don't know ?

I notice our team vs Raiders out of 17 has 5 who definitely won't be here next year and at least 2 or 3 more who probably won't play 1st grade next year and Kenny who I'm a bit sceptical that his injuries are fully rehabed that makes about half the team not part of the future . Should we be using the last game to trial as many of the hopefuls as possible and pick no one who won't be here next year . The spoon is a done deal titans points differential such that even if we win and they lose we are still 16th
Just a thought

All the hopefuls are playing in the jersey flegg semi final, which we need to win. I think that will be better for their confidence and development than throwing them into first grade in a meaningless match. The final first grade game is a good opportunity to farewell and thank those whose services are no longer required.

Fair enough as I said it was just a thought

He needs the ball earlier and certainly before the knucklehead inside him.
This has been a constant in recent times, little or no spontaneity from dummy half, from the halves ( especially right side ) and from the forwards, they just stand and wait for it to happen.
There is no forethought in the play, decisions are made after the ball is in hand giving the defence the advantage.

Agreed. No players in motion, no movement off the ball, actually looks like no one wants to get the ball most of the time. Gives the halves very few options and makes them predictable and easy to read. The good times have players in motion in every play forcing the opposition to second guess whats coming and make decisions in D.

We need a leader and a half that understands where the game is at and needs to be.
