Officiating 2025

This won't be popular but when you see someone is going to kick the ball, which is always a number of metres away, you pull out of the tackle. Pressuring is fine.

Always err on the side of caution. Luai should have done this and the other one. He's a million dollar player, he should know better.

I think people think refs have more say on the outcome then they do. 9/10 the best team wins, regardless of the ref.
What happens if they dummy the kick, should they then be penalised and have to hand over the ball?

Crickets from Tucker
So the difference I can see in that image is that Luai is driving into the tackle where as Damien is avoiding the force of the collision by backing away. It did look almost identical yet there was a clear difference of the force of the impact. I think having Luai tackle Talagi a right foot kicker from the inside made it look more spectacular as well.
In terms of timing though, Luai tackles Talagi as he drops the ball for the kick where as Damien tackles Trindle as he is striking the ball.
Luai’s should actually be more acceptable as if he was to dummy and run it would be a fair tackle, similar to what he had done to Nathan in the same game.

Mate just call it as you see it, the game is played at full speed not super slow mo… these refs to me seem confused at all the different rule interpretations over the years. Add that into the heat of the moment and they’re bound to get things wrong.

If it’s a penalty then penalise for ALL teams. The ref last night even explained why it wasn’t a penalty.. it’s easy to see why Tigers fans are pissed especially when it was a game costly decision and could have had us sitting in equal 8th this weekend

I dont see Cook "backing away"....maybe slightly less initial force than Luais but Cook continues to move forward after impact...no backing away
For his sake I hope Anusley doesn't try to explain the difference it will just make himself look more stupid, the Luai and Cook tackles do look similar.

The decision he backed last year which infuriated me the most was the Api put down for a disallowed try against the broncs, that pissed off a lot of NRL supporters not just us.

I missed that what did he say specifically. I though he said “it’s fine”?

Yet the other day, it could be argued the Staggs did not regrip the ball before scoring after clear separation from his hands.

Journalists should do their job and ask Annersley for a 'please explain' on this given the penalty in our game contributed to the end-result in a very tight competition when coaches livelihoods are the under the microscope.

Should be fined as he has had a previous warning (though haven't heard his comments just going off of your statement).
Just listened to it and it wasn’t as bad as the news reports made out. He was just referring to one incident. I don’t think there will be any penalty.
