Oh boy here we go again! - sick of this crap!!!!

I'm convinved Potter will be coach in 2014\. He's had a chance to get rid of some dead wood and bring in a few players this year. I don't think we can expect premierships in 2014 but if the side is competetive and we recruit well for 2015 then he'll be doing his job.

I agree if we dump potter we are a rabble.

We are already rabble

I for one an not convinced on Potter at all. He's made some glaringly stupid decisions throughout the year and on the field it seems like we have no gameplan whatsoever.

Injures are one thing, sure, but what injured players apart from Galloway would have made a big difference? In many ways the injuries allowed us to bring in some young players who have now proven themselves first graders.

Sorry. What first grade club do you coach to have an educated experienced opinion on whether potter is a good coach or not.

Sorry mate didn't know you needed to be a first grade coach to have an opinion. What first grade team are you currently coaching?

Potter is the man to get us to where we want to go. He is completely innocent of what has happened in the past. He has already shown that he will make the hard decisions and will continue to do so. He inherited this team and the prima donna's both in the team and on the board of the team. Both him and Meyer know what is required so let them get on with the task of moulding and building our team to match any other team in the completion.

Had a gut full of this crap, we wouldnt get a Coach to Coach us if they got rid of him with a year left on his Contract.

This is sad…but we won't be getting rid of Potter.

He had to work with the squad Sheens formed for 2013\. Potter has made his changes and is working to building for the future.

Absolutely ridiculous to see these rumours coming up again and again. If they are true, the club is a joke. If they are false, the journos are scum.

Can't see any reason to get rid of Mick Potter. I think he needs to be given a year to bring in his own players and coaching staff to see how he goes. I must admit there has been times this year we appear not to have a game plan and it is worrying. I still have a lot of faith if the players buy into what Potter is doing it can turn around next year.
More worrying for me is the continue push for Parish to be coach, from what I have heard players were he has been an assistant do not give him any wraps and he hasn't helped Parra this year. He would be the very worst choice to coach the Tigers.

Get rid of him and the next guy will have mick potters squad and it will be a vicious cycle give him another year or even more. we need to set some consistency.

He likes the young kids which ATM out club is all about the kids, he has gotten form from some dud players (Blair) and moved along the players stopping kids coming through (aysh and benj) and the club in general has bought well(tapau and the resignings).

He is what we need, he speaks well and is firm.

PS person who wrote it is probably a parra fan.

More importantly,Simona and Nofo speak glowingly of Potter when interviewed, they say Potter has give them a shot and beleived in them,so I was not surprised Simona stayed,I think he will be our centre next year.
Someone from in the club might have wanted to put Potter on notice and leaked some info.

Wests Tigers coach Mick Potter says he is comfortable with his position at the club despite speculation he could be shown the door just one season into his tenure.
The Tigers' third loss in a row has led to rumblings at the club that Potter will not be coach of the club next year, with suggestions that club **powerbrokers** had been eyeing off replacements. Trent Barrett's name has been mentioned by club **officials**, while Matt Parish and David Kidwell are others believed to have some support.
Potter said on Wednesday night he was ''comfortable with what I've been doing, and what we're doing''. ''I know the results haven't been what we want them to be, and there are various reasons for that,'' he said. ''I haven't heard these whispers but we're sitting down at the lower end of the ladder, and that sort of speculation happens, doesn't it?''
Tigers officials had previously flagged a review of the coaching structure for next season but until recently it was not believed the head coach's role was at stake.

That said, any decision around Potter, who was signed on a two-year deal, is complicated by the fact that his predecessor, Tim Sheens, is still being paid by the Tigers. Asked about Potter's future, chief executive Grant Mayer said: **''Mick Potter has got a contract for 2014.''**
It is believed Potter had raised any concerns with players during a training session several weeks ago, having heard rumours of discontent. But he was adamant that club officials had not raised the prospect of his position being under threat.
''Everyone's disappointed with losing our last three games,'' Potter said. ''But no one's come to me and said anything that's untoward or hinting at anything.
''I'm there for another year. That's for you guys to sniff around for stories. Sometimes they're right and sometimes they're wrong. It's out of my control.''

Who are these officials and powerbrokers ? Are they the same ones who presided over Sheens contract and the Benji contract upgrade fiasco ? Of course they are …. They are the men and women of the Wests Tigers board of directors. Or should I say "faceless men and women" ?

I think the Tigers need to stick to contracts/agreements they enter into. I don't want to see coaches sacked well before the end of their contract period any more. If we make a bad decision then we should live with it.

All we are getting is a poor reputation in the public and business arenas.

Potter has been able to bring on the young guys under extreme adversity and have them achieve. You can't ask for much more from a coach than that IMO. Robbie resigned knowing Potter was there, and the ones that have spat the dummy are leaving.

The tigers would have no credibility if they sacked the coach now!

Sounds like a media beatup BS rave..
Surely the club has learned it's lessons re breaking contracts with hasty decisions.

We have a good squad, lets work with it and give it some time

I love the way you guys just dismiss stories as rubbish if they don't suit you. Potter has major problems with player communication. Not saying his not a good coach, he may well be but the players haven't warmed to him and that's a problem. We are second last and some of the senior players are playing the worst football of their lives.
People going to work unhappy is not going to be productive…Yeah professional blah blah blah. Still you need to be happy to be at your best.

The management have spoken to the players and just like Sheens found out the players have the power to get rid of the coach.

I think there is a possibilty we flick Potter. I hope not.

I disagree Potter has major promlems with communications, thepeople I know that have had dealings with him speak glowingly of his people skills.

That said it is possible the players dont get on with him, and alot of players (people in general really) dont like change and orefer to do things as they have always done.

An unhappy environment is not a good thig, im not sure if this is the case, but if it is, something has to change. It may be the players not the coach that are moved on.

The reason we lost our last couple of games is because the backline is not functioning and I blame Marshall and last week Anasta for these losses.
We are changing from a side that doesnt follow game plans ( even Sheens had his frustrations) to a side which can and this is not Potter's fault but is something he is no doubt trying to improve.

I would offer Potter a 1 year extension already for the changes he is making,

We dominated the ruck against manly and our outside backs were ok, but Benji and Anasta were both horrid. Potter can't do anything about our inept halves this year.

Yeah Potter is in such big demand from rival clubs we don't want to miss out….lets give him an extension. 😕

I cant believe Mayer is not backing Potter 100%. Potter has done great things this year, okay we are coming second last, but he is putting structures in place that will carry us for the next years and beyond. I dont know what he is like as a tactician,as with all the injuries we have had its made it hard to get combinations going. The playing group is not happy??Tell me what playing group who are coming second last are happy!!! and if it is the case maybe its a case of blame shifting.

Do the board really think another coach could have done better???I think he is the perfect person to instill pride and values and than maybe hand the baton to another coach who is more a tactician when all the structures are up and running in maybe two years
