It is seriously hard to hate Panthers (for a non WT supporter) except maybe Luai who can be a bit of a pest. They are definitely an inspirational story. Hate that Ivan gets all the credit for Gould and team's hard work in putting the squad together.

I normally can’t stand the storm and their spoiling tactics, but tonight was the second most enjoyable G/F I’ve watched since 2005..I wanted nothing more than the storm to win and wipe that smug look off Clearys face, I wanted nothing more than to see Jerome Luai shutdown and lose his arrogance..I wanted nothing more than a win that would shutdown the hype around Penrith , and omg the commentary bias toward the riff especially from douche Gould was sickening...thank you Storm you made my night...

First channel 9 game I have watched all year and the commentary was almost intolerable. Gould and Johns pre-empting the obvious is so irritating.

I think it sucks not being able to like the Panthers, they've played well and I like most of the players. Like most have said, I've never wanted the Storm to win more and I particularly enjoyed every time they cut to Cleary. That said, he had a great year and turned the club around when it looked like it was going to be dire. I sort of wonder if they can repeat that performance now, everybody was clicking this year and no major injuries, it's hard to have consecutive seasons like that. I also think Cleary stuffed up not picking Naden and things will get extra weird when he names Nathan Cleary captain next year. He's the obvious choice, so he probably can't avoid it.

One of the warning signs came earlier in the week when they started talking about keeping the team together for the next 10 years. That sort of talk, even before they've won anything significant always suggests that people are getting ahead of themselves. I still remember Noyce suggesting we wanted to be the Manchester united of rugby league after 2005...that went well.
