I normally can’t stand the storm and their spoiling tactics, but tonight was the second most enjoyable G/F I’ve watched since 2005..I wanted nothing more than the storm to win and wipe that smug look off Clearys face, I wanted nothing more than to see Jerome Luai shutdown and lose his arrogance..I wanted nothing more than a win that would shutdown the hype around Penrith , and omg the commentary bias toward the riff especially from douche Gould was sickening...thank you Storm you made my night...

Spot in.. Well said.

Penrith got too big for their boots... They really had no class in their winning streaks.. Hope it burns all summer

I enjoyed Gould's commentary. It was the icing on the cake.

Ivan the Traitor's team being snuffed out by a better side and Gould, the delusional clown, unable to accept what was clearly unfolding right in front of him.

I used to enjoy Ivan's calm demeanor, now he's just a smug. His son is a hell of a player though.

Except he looked like Mitchell Moses for the first 79 minutes and 50 seconds

Still 22 or something so hard to expect him to shine in his first GF. Have no doubt he'll be one of the best ever. His kicking game is already there. The quick decision to deny the kick and have 4 secs on the clock for a Hail Mary was a great decision.

Yah don't get the Nathan Cleary hate.

Ivan, fine - the guy ruined us.

Nope...
Yes
Nope....

I don’t rate him ...
Does nothing except put up dinky lollipop kicks ..
Did nothing last time in Origin ..
Left it all up to Maloney

Yea i.m yet to be convinced he can take control in the big matches when it counts ala Thurston, Johns etc. He is still young and that may come with experience but at this stage he is in the Mitchell Pearce mode - great club player but goes missing in the ones that count.

I think in another couple of years, he will be the premier half in the League. As you point out, he is still very young.
On another note, I really did enjoy watching the Panthers lose. They were the best team all year, but lost the one that counts. That's gotta hurt. And Ivan goes one more year without a premiership ring. Ahhhh - there is some justice in the world.

The nail in the coffin was when someone brought up Bulldogs winning streak and Ivan said yeh but they were cheating the cap. He's an arrogant smug.

There was an article this week about Ivan giving his bro a kidney which was truly amazing and I respect that about him, but then he said in the article about how WT fans should understand that family is important for him so we should be OK with him breaking contract to play with Nathan. Both father and son are delusional with a "I'm always right" attitude.

Agree. I'm not going to pretend he's not a great player at club level, because he certainly is, but may wind up having one gear and not being able to go to the next level and be an instrumental big game player.

Maybe his brother should have given him a heart.

End of the day i'm not as angry that he broke the contract as what i am with the burdens he left us with. I understand the importance of family, but he ensured this club was crippled long term and then abandoned it.That's where the issue is for me.

And some morals

"I let my team down" as per young Cleary's quote should have been the older Cleary's quote after he abruptly left " team", the team he was signed to coach and cleared out of West Tigers as quick as he could.

Created a monumental mess and bailed -bad enough. But it was the blowing kisses to the crowd that completely did it for me. Got out of that game by the skin of his teeth and then reacted like a douche. Still not a premiership winning coach Iv.

Well as the old saying goes you have to lose one to win one.
Storm better team for around 60 minutes.
A dubious bunker decision let the panthers start getting a sniff to there credit took advantage and made it closer.

Ref well if he is the best we have it shows our game is unprofessional when it comes to officiating and that includes the bunker, although they did get more right than the ref.

Entertainment pre game compared to AFL was terrible only thing i liked was the small INXS cameo.

Tamou speech was well spoken and committed to us, and Smith game a very good speech, forgot no one.

Now we can start to think about the 1st of November deadlines and see if we have attracted any other quality players for 2021 that are desperately needed to enhance our roster.

We have better refs. Nepotism from senior administrators doesn't allow them to officiate the important games.

Melbourne have a habit of making good players look bad

I remember last year before they belted Parra in a semi, they were talking up Sivo as the best winger in the comp. They made him look Ron Massey cup standard and he hasn’t really been the same player since

Wighton was nowhere to be seen last week due to Melbournes constant peppering

And last night it was Api, Cleary and Luais turn. Been absolute weapons all year but they probably saved their worst game of the year in the big one. Melbourne truly are a remarkable team

And to think Cleary Junior made two telling mistakes which essentially cost the game....good times....

Its rather funny isn't it - poor old chin - when they said he wouldn't get points deducted from his Dally M total he must have thought he was a certainty for Dally M player of the year. I'm pretty sure he would have thought Penrith was a certainty to win the GF. And he probably thought he was a pretty good chance to win the Clive Churchill Medal. LOL he got nothing. But daddy got a dally m. Would love to be in the Cleary household this week.

Penrith blew it big time. Melbourne were okay but nowhere near their best and Penrith made one mistake after another. Although if you were listening to Nine you would have thought Penrith were on fire. Riff’s spine had no idea for the majority of the game. If they had just kept it simple and kicked to the corners they would have probably won, but they panicked, and that’s where little big jaw went missing.

In the end the better team won and Ivan the terrible came home a bridesmaid again. Just love Karma

Big chin had his Moses pants on

Very poor throughout most of the game

Absolutely loved his poor kicks early on and intercept pass

And yes they blew it big time

Didn't handle the occasion at all

I hope that was their pawwa moment and they don't make a decider for another 10 years

If they did keep it simple as you said and kept their mistakes minimal they probably would've won the game though
