Once in a generation player

Shirnack reminds me of Heighno.

Dwyer looks like he could end up a very big boy. Can only see good things for him.

**Would prefer to have Runciman back though**

 Uppercut time….

I reckon our youth development is second to none.....

On a serious note, another thing that impressed me last night was Dwyer's ability to take a ball in traffic. Twice (I think it was Benji on both occasions) he basically got thrown hospital passes but held on to them no worries. If he runs a bit wider he is going to be very dangerous.

A bit off topic, but how good is the Lui/Ellis combo shaping up. Thats going to be something special to watch by the end of the season.

What geo? Your not seriously saying Dywer is better tha Trent Runciman? No one is better than the Smiling Assasssin.

Well there is Simon Dwyer>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>then lightyears>>>>>>>>>>>>>then more lightyears>>>>>>then there is the smiling assassin Trent Runciman IMO….......

Yes Southern.... I agree with that too combo's both left and right are shaping up well....players coming back....competion for spots will be hot...It's around the time the back on the bench gets shelved too,,,,,

Watching Flanagan's game last night on replay he impressed as well...

It will be interesting to see how we handle the cap in the next few years with all these youngsters coming through.

And I like young Shirnack, plays the game with the right attitude, and a bit niggle never goes astray either

Just a matter of keeping them. Quite likely a few of them will need to go somewhere else to get the bucks over the next few years.
Just hope the retention of goooood young players is handled well by the club.

It's not only the bucks they will look for.

Good young players want an opportunity to play on the big stage and if they can achieve that somewhere else then good luck to them.

Weststigers have created a great development system that continues to bring good, quality young players through but reality is they can't keep them all.

I am a big fan of Dwyers but to this point I dont think he has does anything to suggest a once in a generation player. I personally think that Fifita has the biggest future of all our current youngsters but Im sure Dwyer will be a starting first grader week to week as well.

We haven't seen a tenth of deters talent yet, just wait til he starts getting that offload going….

Agree with a few posters re Jason shirnack aswell, IMO he was more impressive then dwyer in the 20s last year. Isn't as big but plays the game bloody hard.

I stand by my view. I have never seen a player of Dwyer's age come on and actually improve a teams defence. I hate comparisons but its hard not to compare Dwyer to Clyde.

Especially when Sheens has already done that…

He's young and getting better....tough to do it week in week out remember.....

I'm waiting for Lui to hit him wide coming back in on and angle.....probably get smashed in FG....but he'll keep goin that's for sure...

Sign him up...

dwyer seems more of a runner too me, more chance to break and offload (in the near future) alas maybe a yileen gordon style.

where as fifita is just one big ass battering ram.
