The Wests Tigers have abandoned their five-man captaincy system and installed former captain James Tamou as the club’s sole on-field leader for the rest of the 2022 season.


What a dud choice. Tamou barely deserves a spot in the team and phones in 3 games a month. He is the leader? His slow line speed and 50 yards a game whilst being dominated by opp pack? The leader??

And he will only be on the field half the time...

Why on earth not appoint Hastings captain? Or AD in a couple of weeks.

Honestly....you can't even make this stuff up anymore.

Why not just give Hastings and doughi co captaincy for the remainder of the year at least you know they care about the results and won’t be afraid to tell people who aren’t putting in to get stuffed

It is almost unbelievable...

Tamou likely won't even be kept for 2023...so, we appoint a bloke we are cutting.

He just sits there post game at pressers nodding whenever interviewers say "does the team need to change / more effort / stop losing". He just nods and looks down.

The strange decisions just keep on coming .Tamou plays barely 40 mins a game . He plays like he is in semi retirement at the tigers pension home
Surely Hastings or Douehi .They are respected by team mates as stars and usually on field 80 mins

How does Tamou drive professionalism? Avoid effort plays? Not bending the line? Slow line speed?

If you really wanted a captain who led through actions, it would be Joe O.

It's typical Tiger bashing at the moment. "Farcical" at the Tigers but Ok at Souths. I raised the point on another thread that when Madge joined Souths he introduced a 5 man Captaincy roster. By mid season it was reduced to 2 men Crocker & Sutton. They made the Prelim Final that year.
