All species are already on the downhill slide, many are moving to more temperate areas which in some cases cause havoc among existing species in those areas. Humans are suffering due to excessive heat (and cold in some cases), more powerful cyclones etc.. The ice caps are melting stranding polar bears.

In human time frames the slide will take many generations but humans will probably survive forever only in terrible circumstances or greatly effected circumstances. But in natural timeframe of biosphere and evolution of species it is a extremely quick change.
 
Classic 60's Music, I know that there has been the odd reference here and there but I recently scored off ebay 'The Best Of The Move', while familiar with the odd track, why were they not at 'WOODSTOCK'?

Heard Pub With No Beer this morn on radio, one line goes…and the cook was acting queer. What did this mean in the sixties? Was he wearing a thrilly apron?

They mentioned the song went to NO 2 in UK and NO. 1 in Ireland.

No queer was just another word for odd, weird, and depending on the context, possible feeling a little ill. Like you were starting to get a cold, or flu etc.

Basil, there is a excavator operator in Byron goes under name of Big Toe who was a thalidomide victim so is armless. His machine has been jigged up for toe use only and he is brilliant and universally admired. Hope he is not a Tiger supporter reading this forum.

Not much talk about 3 of my favourites. The Beach Boys, Hermans Hermits and Don Maclean. All class acts and i still listen to them at least once a week.
 
recently an older couple passed away in sad circumstances in the palm beach area.The carer died and her partner later died of malnutrition.
this prompted the police investigating officer to make a public plea for people to be aware of older people in the community who struggle with outside communication.
The couple were pre war babies and not baby boomers as some forumers,like myself, who log on to this forum are .
The police officer believed that adults who struggled through the war became resililient,resourceful
and community minded.As a baby boomer we all got to enjoy the golf clubs,rsls,memorial halls and parks that were created by the pre war generation.
Their generation didnt become social forumers .They relied on face to face communication- getting their groceries from the corner shops and having their social contacts in this manner.
The police officer went on to issue a plea for people to be aware of older people and check in on them every now and then.Seems like a simple thing to do.
