Liverpool is Tiger territory.

It’s Bulldogs territory. The Bulldogs know it and more importantly the NRL knows it. Liverpool is the Bulldogs takeover v2.0.

Uhh no it isn’t. Where the stadium would be, on the corner of Hoxton Park road and the Hume Highway, that’s in Tiger territory. Dogs territory starts when you go over the bridge on Newbridge road, down towards Mororebank.

Makes no difference, it’s Bulldogs territory. They know it and so does the NRL.

With the Balmain faction unlikely to support a full-time move to Campbelltown

"With the Balmain faction unlikely to support a full-time move to Campbelltown" - hahahahaha - - the Leichhardt Balmain faction doesn't have a say anymore. Wests Ashfield is the new Balmain faction. This is why the club continues to operate like a chook without a head - running from home ground to home ground.

So to all the guys making excuses already why they can’t travel to Liverpool (but yet will travel to lumeah) what is your proposal to sort out the home ground issue , whilst also maintaining a foothold in the growth area of C town ?
Also bearing in mind that C town have never ever embraced the magpies/tigers , and resources are finite in the city ?

If it gets us playing out of one ‘home ground’ instead of 10 then I’m all for it. Our nomadic existence has been a major contributor to our inconsistency, imo.

Sooooo….. you’d like to have a “home ground” with the Bulldogs instead of 2 actual home grounds that we have now?

Mate we have had 4 or 5 home grounds over the years and we currently share one with the slimes which is really just their old home ground revamped. Leichhardt & Campbelltown give us zero advantage when we actually play there. I’d gladly welcome just one home ground and I’m not opposed to sharing it with fellow strugglers the Dogs. The move may actually keep us in the competition!

If Liverpool ever happens mark my words, membership and support will dive and 10 years after the Bulldogs will takeover the Wests Tigers with the full support of the NRL. The NRL will force it by withdrawal of the Wests Tigers NRL license, stating lack of support for the club as the reason.

I have heard it all before huge growth area coming BLAH BLAH ..i do not think Wests will be bitten twice ..setting up a new stadium amongst a mortgage belt is doomed for failure as it was 40yrs ago ! History says this is a bad idea ..and of course a car needed to get there in Sydney traffic .

A sneaky merger, sorry JV, between Wests, Balmain & Dogs perhaps? Maybe V'Landys will make all 3 an offer too good to refuse!

I believe that back in the day, the Dogs & Wests were dating whilst the Tigers & Slimes were basically going through an engagement of convenience. Neither ended well.

Geez, I wouldnt have thought that NRL HQ could so thoroughly stuff up the home grounds issue.

a/ they first say yonks ago that home grounds for each Sydney based NRL club is becoming impossible (due to increasing standards eg amenity improvements etc) and flag a move to shared grounds. The rationale is not bad as so many Sydney grounds were becoming substandard compared to others.

b/ Bankwest / Parra Stadium was the first to undergo rebuilding but Parra claimed it well before the first spectator set foot in it. It is Paras home ground in spite of any other team sharing it.

c/ Sydney Football is being rebuilt too but again like Bankwest / Parra that to all intents and purposes will be Roosters home turf. Any one else sharing it will not be at home.

d/ Stadium Australia was to be rebuilt as well but NSW govt has shied away from that. A few teams call it their home including WT (one of many but probably the most logical for a fulltime home ground for them as an inner west identity).

e/ Govt (state and federal have set aside money for ground improvements to 3 x grounds- Kogarah, Manly and Penrith. All individual club home grounds.

f/ NRL HQ comes out now proposing a joint stadium built Liverpool area shared between WT and Bulldogs.

This policy, if you can call it such, is all over the place with winners and loosers left right and centre. No equity and equal pain. Could they have made it any more complex and fraught if they tried? I'd have been happy if they said, look we are going to sponser the building of 4 x stadiums across Sydney to be shared by the Sydney based clubs-there will no longer be any singular home ground for a club and that along with Stadium Australia will be the base for NRL standard football in Sydney.

Liverpool has a great butcher though

It feels like us and sharks will be left behind. Playing in rinky dink local parks while everyone else playing in modern stadium.
Well done Wests! 😅

we just need to win the comp and we get $200M for a ground. simple. V'Landys will get that

edited for thousands to millions

That's baffling.

I dont consider Liverpool "our own Territory". The fact that Dundas Shamrocks are Balmain Juniors and up the road from Bankwest doesnt make Bankwest in our territory.

In the 90's and 00's I was consulting to Canterbury LEagues (and Balmain Leagues) at the time an they were gong to build their big COE and stadium at the Whitlam Centre back then. Liverpool is Bulldogs territory.

Exactly - Dogs trying to move there since the 90's says it all

They had the foresight to see the potential of a development out there which is something sadly missing on this forum

your push for out that way is what is sad
our COE is inner city

Elderslie is close to Liverpool mate ..
Agendas much

Just as far as Leichhardt is to Liverpool

Elderslie to Liverpool 33k’s
Elderslie to Leichhardt 57k’s

Must get lost a lot ?

I think he meant Elderslie is just as close to Liverpool as Leichhardt is to Liverpool.

Correct

but you are closer to Liverpool was the point
