Operation Farewell Farah cranks up with injured Tiger set to run next week

Surely Madge is a decent enough coach to realise this can't happen.
I find comfort in that for now.

Sure if we have no chance on the last game at L.O let him jog on.

G'day @avocadoontoast: where it says "click here to make your bid online!"
I clicked until the cows came home but nothing happened, apart from the fact I am a lot of bull. So I will have to make a bid here on Our Wests Tigers Forum...I bid $10 for the Paul Gallen coin and 50cents for the Farah coin.

bid here....

Remember that Simpsons episode with the Polish goal kicker? I'm picturing Robbie kicking the winning field goal just as his leg falls off.

Thank You @TheDaBoss: I have to admit right here and now, in front of all our forumers to telling a fib.
I wouldn't actually bid 1cent for Farah's coin as I feel he is desthspicakable :relaxed:

I say>>>I agree 100%... but... Cronk, Burgess, Sattler, our Great Pat Richards and Changa Lang all **did it for the love they had for their club.**
Farah and his little mate Michelle Moses are only happy when they get things their way. The overall scenario of what is best for the club didn't come into their thinking a little while back. And some Tigers don't change their spots, ever, do they? Have a great day and enjoy the footy on Sunday :relaxed:

No matter what you think of Farah you're out of your tree if you think he doesn't love the club.
Most probably more than anyone - including you and me.

Fans have sadly become too used to seeing their Tigers lose the games they’re expected to win.

Sad alright!

As much as I love the club, I think most fans have come to accept losing crucial games is inevitable. That said, I feared Newcs would lap us last week,

@Masterton It's a fair expectation. Our record in crunch games is even worse than our GP record. Given the only three times we've made the finals we've been safely in the top 4 it's clear we've never won a must win final round game.

He does love the club no doubt but he comes first before the club - (ironic?)

@jirskyr i don't see how they aren't similar. An injured player putting themself before what's best for the team. Both would be incredibly selfish in nature.

Because one bloke has a fractured leg confirmed via x-ray outside of a match. The other bloke had a twinge assessed on-field.

Both players obviously want to play, one was cleared by a qualified physician, the other has not yet been cleared.

Pretty much every NRL player will play if they can. You don't want a bloke who would prefer to sit on the sidelines.

You can call it selfish, but it's just risk assessment. Was Cooper Cronk selfish for playing 2018 GF with a broken scapula? Sam Burgess with a fractured eye socket? John Sattler with a broken jaw? Pat Richards with ankle ligaments in 2005? Changa Langlands for getting a needle in 1975? They all could have turned out very badly for the team, in an instant, and in Changa's case it did.

Players very regularly play with injury and it's a risk assessment, aka an educated guess, whether or not an injury might get worse or not. There's more guesswork when the injury occurs in warm-up (compared to mid-week), because there is less capacity to assess the injury and less coverage with players named for that match.

So it's not selfish to want to play and it's not selfish to play if the doctor says you are right to go. Players are not doctors, they shouldn't be expected to over-rule physicians.

I don't want a bloke at the Tigers who isn't willing to play injured for the team, even if it turns out badly. That passion and grit differentiates first graders.

Finally some sense in this thread. There is so much hate for Farah. It makes me ashamed. He has been incredible for us this year. He would take a bullet to get us into the finals.

Drive, passion and competitiveness are different to selfishness. Yet drive passion and competitiveness are too often interpreted as selfishness.

Farah wants to do everything he can for us to win. FULL STOP. Dr and Coaches will assess his fitness and make the call.

It's not just that, it's the fact that he's leaving. Even if you dislike the bloke, just say "thanks for everything" and let him walk off satisfied. No need to put the boot into people who are retiring, they'll be yesterday's news before you can even blink.

That's why I don't understand why people get all upset. If the club says Farah can play, so be it. If they say he can't, fine. There are professionals in charge of that decision, and even if you reckon they aren't professionals, you have absolutely zero input into the decision, so might as well avoid the stress in your day of another pointless thing to whinge about.

Haven't cheered him for years and think Pascoe made things worse, but still gave Robbie points in the 3,2,1 threads when deserved. If we don't win on Sunday and other results have WT as no hope of finals next week, than I will not give two hoots about whether he plays the last round.

If we happen to make it through to the eight, based on what I had wanted last weekend and then been proven that it works, I would again prefer to see Benji start the game in the middle, even if Farah is fit.

and sometimes making the hard call himself of sitting it out because he knows that's the best thing for the club and his health would be an honourable thing to do

If he's still injured, I expect that he will sit out. He is still very long odds to play and I very much doubt it will happen.

But if he is fit and anyone genuinely thinks Josh Reynolds, Benji for 20 mins or Elijah Taylor at hooker are the "best thing for the club", then you are smoking some good gear.

Benji at dummy half against Newcastle did wonders didn't it? I don't smoke so all good 🙂

It's going to come down to how fit he can get

If he can get to 80% he will play I'd imagine , maybe it becomes a good thing , he concentrates on his passing game and forgets about trying to engage defenders
