Opinions on Dallas Graham and Jordan Grant

Just wondering anyone's opinion on Graham and Grant from NSW Cup? They've been in the system a while and by all accounts well-respected as young players, though I honestly have hardly seen any of their reserve grade performances.

Being overlooked for Felise when we are down in the prop rotation, it tells me they aren't going to see FG any time soon. And with Junior Tatola also highly rated, I am wondering if these boys have missed their chance at the Tigers.

Any thoughts from keen NSW Cup observers?

Felise and Tatola are better players imo. Significantly so, especially potential wise, but even now I reckon. Graham and Grant are potential solid club level hacks though. Dave Tyrrel types. Buchanan consistently performs better than them in NSW cup though. Felise and Tatola are potentially much more than that. Especially Felise.

I think Felise and Tatola have been as good in NYC as Woods and Fifita were. Or at least close.

I really like Jordan Grant. Great player and very hard worker.
He really gets the momentum going and hits the line hard.

I hope we see him in first grade.

Both players have good motors. At the start of last year I thought Graham may have been a chance to make his debut but got injured early on and missed the season.

Felise and Tatola look promising though and I'm keen to see how Taniela Paseka develops in his first NYC season, this kid is massive so his biggest challenge will be learning how to use that size effectively as he continues to develop and improve his strength and fitness.

That answers it for me….in other words they are not NRL standard

I agree with MacDougall, good honest footballers, and I also think Buchanan is probably ahead of them.

Some players kick on when an opportunity arises. They find inspiration from those around them and lift. Others are at their limit before that opportunity presents - much like Buchanan imo.

Grant has been the best prop for our nsw cup side this season IMO. Big, hits the line hard, gets quick play the balls and is decent enough in defence. Graham has the leg drive to keep thrashing away to make metres but still needs to develop his game more. He's been injured a lot in recent years which has definitley held back his development.

I'd keep both around the club and would ideally have Grant ahead of Buchanan.

Felise can be a monster as he continues to fill out. A Shane Webcke type player. But would have thought he'd be playing NSW Cup if he was indeed close to a NRL callup.

Tatola has the potential too but isn't quite there yet. Still got to work on getting to his ideal playing weight and how to use it in attack and defence.

Guessing you haven't watched any Ressies this year. Jordan Grant has been our best forward buy a mile all year - And he knows it!!
Dallas is still getting there fitness wise, But will be great if he can get some miles in him.

was told that 2nd teir salray cap crap is to blame for grant not getting a run in 1st grade, so make of it what u will but it seems that the cap just keeps bitting us.

I am glad to see Taylor phasing out Buchanan. Mick Potter seemed to rate him, and we went the first 8 rounds of 2013 with Buchanan starting despite no previous NRL experience. Young Jack must've looked pretty sharp in that Dragons U/20s side cos Potter kept Woods and Murdoch Massila on the bench to debut him as the starting number 8.

Now he's lucky to be 18th man, and twice Taylor has included him on the bench without actually using him.

Buchanan must be out for a while seeing he was in a moon bot and crutches on the weekend. Jordan Grant should get his chance this season. Like a young Tim Grant.

I think BB was making the point that he expected Felise to have been running around in NSW Cup this year if we had plans to put him in the NRL side.

We generally don't promote straight from NYC any more.

On that note, wonder if Felise will go back to NYC or get a start in NSW Cup if/when he has done his time in 1sts.
