Origin 1*Live thread..

Yep, agree Tigerdave. If that was what Origin has become, then I think I'll give it a miss. No game breakers - no chance really with the defensive lines almost able to shake hands at times. Farah tried hard, but offered no threat out of dummy half at all (not that Smith was any better). The difference between the two teams was Boyd. (And you will never know how hard that is for me to say because I can't stand the bloke). Bog average game.

This Blues team tonight, reminded me a bit of the WT. No matter how many times they got the ball near the opposition try line, i just knew they wouldn't be able to score. :sunglasses:

I think it comes down to the defence first mantra that people that have no idea preach. They just have no attacking plays or in JT's words structures. It was very similar.

Before all the muppets start going on that you have to defend that is a given. You do have to make your tackles and not just let the opposition score.

Snooze fest of a game.
Both teams average with officiating to match.

But of all the rubbish last night Channel 9 takes the cake. That is the worst commentary team in the history of televised sport. Surely. I reckon Sterlo is close to saying "Thanks, but no thanks" to Channel 9, having to be in the same box as those geese.

I've been watching foxtel all year and that was my first channel 9 game. Got to say I really noticed a change in the broadcast. There was so much changing of camera angles that it was hard to follow at times. The overhead shot of JT's conversion attempt was terrible. Even Raba said I think it missed but can't be sure….

The culmination was the muddling up of QLD's potential try scoring opportunity late in the second half. JT went to the line and inside kicked back towards the posts. You could see Cooper start sprinting in chase then...the camera angle changed and lost track of the ball!!! As it turned out he came within an inch of scoring but was denied due to a brilliant effort from Moylan which I only know because they showed us via replay from the usual camera angle.

Not good enough.

Worked ok for QLD

Both teams were rubbish. Refs were rubbish. Atmosphere was rubbish.

Just an awful game all around.

Exactly….and those fans who contribute to their clubs have to watch a substandard NRL competition for 6 weeks or so and get dished up 3 servings of the garbage from last night.

The last 20 minutes was some of the worst, most unimaginative rugby league I have ever seen. People blew up about our game against the Cowboys last year, but last night was worse.

Won't be watching games 2 & 3\. Wake me up when it's over.

Really don't think Teddy would have made much difference in that game. There was no space between the teams. Moylan did ok I thought given the level of defence.
The difference between the two teams - a ridiculous penalty.

i thought teddy would've made a huge difference. nsw's kick returns with mansour and moylan were very strong but teddy's pace wouldve easily seen him get across nielsen, oates and the other 2nd rowers. teddy's strength is creating 3 on 2 and executing them no matter how short the side is or who is on his outside. maybe it's the tigers bias but in that game, if nsw have teddy, we win.

1\. teddy
14\. moylan

18\. morris

Oh sorry the two changes

The selectors and the team you play against , maybe start playing Victoria or Tasmania and then work your way up to Qld

Aren't we cocky tonight :sunglasses: I wonder why that is.

Probably because we are playing the Roosters this weekend

Then I'll be cock a hoop if we win

Or maybe shaking a tail feather

Or taking to the feather duster 😱pen_mouth:

Lol…

Part of me wants to see Teddy get picked for Origin, as he deserves to be. But the other part of me, doesn't want him too, in case he gets hurt.
Lol, must be that protective, motherly, instinct, coming out.

Morris always handles Inglis, we hear it every year…
Maybe thats because Inglis isn't anything special.

Morris = losing member of a losing team with a losing culture that has been losing for years.

Need to start from scratch and look to the future.
