The bunker's an embarrassment. It's hard to put into words how inept it is when in theory it should be an asset.
Last night QLD suffered it's incompetence but to be fair it happens in almost every game. It doesn't discriminate.

It is getting to the point where the main stage of the game is the Bunker. The NRL must as early as next season get rid of the Bunker. It slows up the game no end and too many times it is quite incompetent.

Agreed. How did they miss Mansour's touch in the Boyd try.

I think the bunker has been terrific.

If you're going to take out the bunker, would like to hear the suggestions of how to proceed. The onfield refs have gotten SO many calls wrong which were corrected by the bunker. So it can't fall back to them…

The NRL has tried everything under the sun to appease the fans... It's just that with the amount of 50/50 calls, everyone is going to be upset with a decision from time to time.

The bunker would be fine if the refs didn't send an opinion of 'TRY' or 'NO TRY ' to the bunker .
That's what stuffs it up !

Fifita's try was not a try. Jennings was inside the 10\. They totally threw that rule out the window. Just like they did with the most blatant forward pass Penrith threw the other week.

Agree with both of you, the bunker is a complete waste of time and money. The amount of times they get pretty obvious decisions wrong after so many looks at it and different angles etc is horrendous. Sure they may get some decisions right but still way too many wrong- its inexcusable.

Spot on Hobbo, the protocol where the ref gives his opinion even though sometimes he has no friggin idea what has occurred is ludicrous. It is such a stupid way to go about getting the correct decision.

It's the same as making the decision after the fact with a 'Refs call'
So would the solution be having no on field decision and leave all 50/50 calls to the bunker?

The only thing that I think needs to be improved is the ability to rule on fwd passes. Makes no sense to elliminate from the bunker when so many are getting missed.

Once upon a time I was screaming for the Video Ref. Now I would love to see everything gone. I am happy if the ref gets it wrong from time to time. I'd love the touch judges to run in (I miss the cheer that used to go up every time that happened)
I think what frustrates people is that even with this technology they still balls it up at times.

Yes, that would be the way to go Hammertime. Send it to the bunker with no on-field decision/opinion/guess influencing the way the bunker adjudicates on a decision. They have got 50 bloody camera angles available to them with zoom lenses etc, surely that is gonna come up with a more precise decision than some imbecile on-field who is just guessing more often than not.

In Last weeks game v the Dogs , Ashley Klein was 0/2 in sending up 'NO TRY' decisions to the bunker .
The Bunker then looks to back up the ref's by looking for a 'NO TRY' …
In both instances Ashley Klein was wrong .
Half the time the Ref's are 2 feet away from a Try being scored and they still go to the bunker .
The bunkers a joke IMO .

The Blues need to identify the young guys they see playing SOO for the next 10 yrs, blood them and stick with them. It might cost them another series, but long term they will benefit. The old brigade i.e Farah, Jennings, Bird, Ferguson all should be thanked for their service and moved on. They need to get ahead of Qld, because once Thurston, Cronk and Smirh are gone, they'll be back to the blooding rookies game too.

Get rid of the old brigade and start new. Sacrifice next year with 2 games in Qld and build a team for the future. My SOO team for next year:

1.Tedesco
2\. Trbojevic
3\. Bird
4\. Roberts
5\. Mansour
6\. Maloney
7\. Reynolds
8\. Woods
9\. Peats
10.Klemmer
11\. Frizell
12\. Jackson
13\. Graham

14\. Cartwright
15\. Cordner
16\. Fifita
17\. Moylan

M johns and fletcher threw up Pearces name as next year's origin hooker.
Considering the options that's probably not such a bad idea.

Pearce would be another option, atleast we will get a second kicker aswell. I reckon Josh reynolds from the dogs would go great at hooker for the blues. He is made for origin.

Yeah i would have had reynolds off the bench this year for sure. Walker!!! Wtf was that about?
Pearce is an interesting call. Big enough defensively. I wonder if johns and fletcher got a tip from Daley that they were looking at him.
