Interesting how much better Qld looked with hunt instead of Grant. Grant can be a great player but he has plenty of errors in him and he plays too desperate. Hunt cleans everything up and doesn't overplay, makes runs at the right time.

Robson average as always, but I guess that's what NSW wants.

Weird making Jake captain and not having him on field much. Madge has always been bad with captain selections, though. Bench and selections seemed to equal this sort of performance: effort and some grit but limited in attack and slow out wide leaving them vulnerable.

Sualii send off was a horrible tackle: high to the head and reckless. Send off. Sure Walsh dropped a little but he was aiming too high from the start. You might argue just 10 in the bin, but that would be very generous let off. Dumb by sualii.

I thought Robson was one of our best.

NSW were the dominant team for maybe 40 minutes…they didn’t react well to the send off and let some cheap points in and ran out of puff at the end, but they owned 15mins before halftime - 25 minutes or so after it.
Game 2 is no foregone conclusion.

I was replying and making the point that the only positive I saw is that NSW are no longer sponsored by the dodgy legal firm and their vainglorious figure-head who inflitrated the Tigers and left us in our current predicament!

Lost attacking shape and cohesion without Reese.

I think he was too big a part of their game plan to enable them to adjust quickly - and Cobbo is still very immature in many aspects of his game!

Reminded me of the Tigers - plenty of field position but attacking structures were poor. Plenty of good individual performances and lots of effort but as a team they looked a rabble. May have been different if the Sualli send off didnt happen. Not a fan of the halves combo and I expect that will change.

Yep, he played with effort and heart and didn't really ever look threatening. You can win with him if you have a dynamic halfback and a speedy backline that needs the ball. This team needs more creativity around the ruck.

Nice work Madge great selections, typical. With all the stats saying if a back goes down in the first half with no replacement they lose like 90% of the time. Burton should of been in the bench. No McGuinness, slurbo or Hynes all have got nothing!!
