Origin selection discussion thread

just saw that, robbie has an ankle injury? im sure he does. sounds like daley has been dropping crap everywhere again. hope heighno gets his chance.

Yeah he does mate, Sheen's had Heighno at the press conference after the Dragons game because he didn't want Robbie to walk up flights of stairs apparently.

That article is crazy, Beau Scott getting a spot over Lawrence or Jennings is unbelievable.

I do hope they pick Jennings though, we need our boys for the Broncos.

Robbie said on Fox Sports yesterday to Gary Belcher after the match that he is getting scans.

He sounded more hopeful then anything.

By the way, Lawrence > Scott

You just have to look at how well Lawrence did on Friday night opposing Scott. The only good thing Scott did was make an ankle tackle when Lawrence was just about through early in the 2nd half. I thought "Well there's the excuse for the selectors to pick Scott".

only chance from the tigers atm is lawrence and heighington imo. if farah is injured i doubt sheens would let him risk further injury in origin for what could be 1 week out turning into 1 month out.

 After tonights commentary don't be suprised to see Justin poore in the squad.

Daley is a Dragon obsessed muppet

Oh dear God:

Tim Mannah, **Justin Poore**, Luke Douglas and Kade Snowden battle for NSW Origin spot
>
PARRAMATTA front-rowers Tim Mannah and **Justin Poore** along with Cronulla pair Luke Douglas and Kade Snowden are locked in a four-way battle for a NSW bench spot.
>
Blues selectors will tonight announce their team for the dead-rubber match on Wednesday week, with Manly's Jason King and Melbourne's Brett White expected to be the starting props.
>
The Daily Telegraph understands Snowden's withdrawal from Cronulla's match against the Cowboys has damaged his chances. Gold Coast's Greg Bird will return to the NSW squad and could even start at lock.
>
South Sydney's Nathan Merritt, Penrith's Michael Gordon and Manly's **Michael Robertson** are candidates for a wing position outside Beau Scott.
>
NSW will today determine whether to name Dragons prop Michael Weyman, who is facing a suspension of four to six matches.
>
It is understood Weyman will be charged by the match review committee with a grade two or grade three dangerous throw on Wests Tigers fullback Wade McKinnon.
>
Penrith's Michael Jennings has earned a spot after his three-try performance against Manly at CUA Stadium last Friday night.
>
Selectors are ready to retain Trent Barrett and Mitchell Pearce as Blues halves with Dragons match-winner Jamie Soward to again be overlooked.
>
The selectors believe Pearce will thrive playing alongside the experienced Barrett, who will be named captain, with Kurt Gidley to again start from the interchange bench.
>
The ARL is still locked in a war with the QRL over Israel Folau, who will be picked tomorrow in the Maroons side. ARL chief executive Geoff Carr reiterated Folau should be omitted after signing to play AFL.
>
"[But] we don't want to be open to a court challenge," Carr said. "We have asked the QRL to do the right thing and not pick him."

Now Robertson is in the mix, who next? Shane Rodney?

White and King to start. Thats a very lethal front row of White, Ennis and King *Sarcasm*

Someone needs to call up on the Fox Fan phone and personally ask Daley why Heighington, Lawrence and Farah weren't selected.

Heighington is in career best form.
Lawrence offers a lot more then Scott.
Farah is a lot more creative and better defensively then Ennis.

and finally NSW make changes that HAD TO BE MADE.. only think I dont like in there is that useless non attacking hack Beau Scott.. but if Lyon was fit he would be ahead of him… once again no tigers chosen (good now they can play next week and not in a game that means nothing)

I also dont see the need for Barrett seeing hes not here next year

Yep Unbelievable, Heighno as much as I hate saying it, you need to pledge your allegiance to England. We must be the only team in history that has the Australian coach and yet for some strange reason we cannot get a player selected at State Level.

On another thing Trent Barrett as Captain, yep thats a view for the future…. lol.

Daley, McCarthy, Gerard, Love= NO IDEA

I hope we (NSW) get smashed again. Time for change

Happy that no Tigers were picked, but would like to see the justifications behind Scott over Lawrence, Ennis over any other hooker in the NRL and how Heighno still has not managed to get a run.

Going for QLD again, hopefully Ennis gets smashed.

Mannah please…...........they should have just pissed bellemy off now why have him there,if Scott is a better centre than lawrence ill swim to china, would rather the other morris there either way and how they stick with ennis is beyond me.Bellemy said Gordon is also there for his great goal kicking,we wont score a try you dope

Mannah is a inform, he's equivalent of Shillington to queensland.. No silly stuff.. probably only the half decent selection they made

Watch that NSW side get pumped again. Seriously poor form that no Tigers were selected, but hopefully they will be smarting and stick it to the Broncos on Friday night. Heighno, Farah and Lawrence can all feel hard done by IMO.

why if this is a team for the future is barrett playing instead of soward? why is ennis there when his team flounders at the bottom of the table? and scott came up against lawrence in the last game and got beat in every area of the position? and heighno is at his all time best?

just rediculous :frowning:

go queensland! i will not be cheering nsw in any way!
