now we moved into this price mid december, infact moved in from $21 to $13 and are now 7th in the line of betting to win the title, now the tab arent dumb, and have incredible information and they didnt want to get stung. now it would be hard to believe that signing cayless and flanagan would result in an $8 plunge for the tigers.

and we have steadily moved in from $41 ever since we were "rumoured" to be signing lote.

you know it makes sense

I for one have no qualms about your inside info.

However the TAB's greatest indicator to changing odds is the money received on that option in the markets.

It is possible that the rumours of Lote's imminent signing led to a dip in our betting. Alternatively there may have been some large bets from people with inside knowledge

its not just money that dictates sportsbetting smeg, its rumour and inside info that causes the tab to change their odds, (thats why they suspend betting alot) now in november we were $41 to win the comp, then when it was "rumoured" tuquiri was done we came into $25, and then before lote was announced we punge into $13 in december.

it would have to be hundreds AND hundreds of thousands of dollars on the tigers to bring our price in $28 from what we opened at

ill also add that since lotes been signed we havent moved at all in the market, which means the tab are happy with the $13 that was about us a month before lote officially signed

Seriously who cares mate… I was appreciative of the info you gave, but in the end does it really matter whether it was done 6 months, 6 weeks or 6 days ago?? It all seems to be a major ego grab for you now and your making yourself look silly...

I have no doubt that many factors including inside info plays a large income in betting markets. Rumour of a star players injury alone is enough to send the punters into a mini frenzy

I only have a vague recollection of it but there was major plunges in the market for both us and the Bunnies in the last month of 2009.

I will ask the fellow I know who works at Tabcorp (low level) if he can clarify anymore though

What's the point?

the point is ducktales are being told by our ceo and hes too adamant that lote wasnt signed back in november, he says it in every interview like hes trying to convince himself

If that's the case…..Why did he fly over there......when he could have just produced the signed contract from November...post dated......

A betting move is not necessarily proof something happened, it's proof that people believed something had happened. I'm sure the TAB was following all the rumours and were probably convinced it was more likely than not Lote would sign but I doubt someone from the TAB saw a signed contract. In a 16 horse field though, the TAB is more interested in spreading their liability than getting "caught out". It doesn't care if a few people in the know get overs, just as long as they make a profit on the overall book.

Bottom line - it seems obvious the deal was agreed to in principle late last year and a contract was signed early 2010\. I don't believe anything formal (in terms of an actual NRL contract) was signed until just recently. For Humphreys and WT to do otherwise would have potentially very serious repercusions.

Exactly. It would have been a verbal agreement and handshake deal only back then. Humphries would have been concerned that Lote might go back on his word and stay in Union with all the media talk, hence the trip to the UK to seal the deal. Officialy nothing was certain until the signature was on the paper. Exactly how Humphries has quoted.

But really who cares. It was the worst kept secret in the NRL, I really dont think you need to be talking up your inside info Ron Burgandy.
