Our 19 seasons

For a club that has only made the semis 3 times we have a pretty good record against the sides that have become the eventual premiers in that year

In 19 seasons we have beaten the eventual premiers 9 times , lost 8 times , had one draw and obviously in 2005 (even though we probably beat ourselves a few times with our performances ) we won

I wonder how many other clubs can boast that record and where we end up against the 15 other clubs % wise ??

Most teams who go on and win the comp play a very structured game plan….ie Storm Chooks and Sharks. We usually can compete against structured sides, although beating the Chooks has not been our strong suit.

The teams we can not handle are teams who are big, have speed, have a off load and play off the cuff. Teams like Penrith, Canberra and Souths fall into this category.

Maybe SC but the sides we have beaten in premierships seasons will surprise

2001 was Newcastle our greatest ever comeback
2004 was the Dogs
2006 Was Brisbane , everyone was out injured that day bar Prince
2007 Was Melbourne at Gosford Rowdy killed it with many out injured
2009 Was Melbourne in what I class our greatest win ever 16-6
2011 Was Manly beat them pretty easy in the end
2012 Was Melbourne during SOO ugly win
2014 Was Souths where we levelled the Burgess bros another good win
2018 Was Roosters 1st time since 2011 we had beaten them
2000 We drew with Brisbane
2005 we won premiership

So @happy_tiger that has WT only playing the premiers once, each and every year? Possible, but it would be long odds never to have played them twice, when in each of those 18 years they play half of the teams twice.
